Mind sharing what the app was doing when you experience this?
e.g. were you playing some video, navigating a library, managing your server … or was it simply idling?!
I am having the same issue today. Trying to continue an episode I was watching just last night on the same computer and now Plex is crashing withing a few seconds of resuming playback.

Happens 2 mins after I launch the app, even if I don’t start/resume a video.

I have the same issue. Playing any movie or series plays for about a minute then crashes:

Only happens when playing a video. Idle or navigating doesn’t cause the issue
Is there a particular reason why you’re running the Win 10 release from H1/2020? Just checking as this seems to be the common denominator…

This is the latest update of windows. No further updates available.
I have found that if you use the web version to play videos it works fine. It is the .exe version that seems bugged.
Maybe I was misled by this section from your log:
Win 10 build 19041 is based on version 2004
Key question: Have you updated your Plex for Windows player to the latest version (version 1.35.1 has been released a few days ago).
I am having the same exact error, starting occurring minutes after i installed the last plex update. Nothing else on my server has changed in weeks/months.
I cant keep the .exe plex desktop app open long enough to edit some artwork, I am not even watching a show and its erroring out and closes after just a few minutes.
Any thoughts on a fix from anyone yet?
Manually downloading 1.35.1 and updating seems to fix it for me.
Was on 1.34.1 when this crash was occurring. Wouldn’t even prompt for an update, didn’t think of checking the download page until @tom80H mentioned it there.
Maybe it’s in the auto update/update checking process? EDIT: Yea, this seems backed up by other posts from plex employees about the updater in some 1.34 versions being borked. Source
Shot…that sorted it for me as well.
Go to plex and manually download Plex 1.31.1. Auto updater for 1.34 is broken.
It fixed it for me.
I was having the exact same problem. I went to the plex website, downloaded the version they had online, rather than getting an older version, they have already got a newer version online. But most importantly, this new version has FIXED THE GOD DAMNED BACK BUTTON!!! It now actually acts as a back button not a home button.
Same here, program “gracefully” closes after 30 seconds of playing. Not a crash, just as it someone clicked an X and shut it down.
Please check if updating the app to version 1.35.1 fixes the issue same as for the other users in this thread.
Mine says version 1.24.3.5033. When I go into plex to click “check for updates”, it says I am up to date. Are you saying download a new version from online and reinstall? Wont that erase my settings or custom art work?
