Plex windows player - keeps wanting updates

I run plex For Windows player on a small Intel HTPC Windows-10 system, and the server on a Synology DS218+ NAS.
I upgraded both to most current versions, but the Windows player reports “update available - update now?” on every restart/reboot.

I did the update, and it runs fine, but every time it again reminds to upgrade (to the same version) adn I have to skip it (“no, later…”)

C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\Plex\cache\updates

Try clearing out the update folder.
