I have Plex media server set up for remote access and have enabled the Plex skills in Alexa. Every time I try to have Plex do something I get the response that I need a companion video player. I can’t find anything about this on either your support forum or on the Alexa app. The next time I tried it said OK and said to enjoy a completely different video on Microsoft Edge, which btw is not available on Fire TV afaik. If I select a movie manually and say “Ask Plex to Pause” it will say OK and not pause. Not sure what I’m missing here. I have a Fire TV Cube (2019 version) and am running the latest server version and app version.
Meh, ignore the question. After working for a while the remote access now says it’s not connected and I can’t get it to connect any more (yes port forwarding is set up and I followed all the guide lines on the support page.). Pretty much a useless feature as is anyway so I’ll get by fine without it. No need for help with remote access, it would have been nice but doesn’t seem to work consistently enough to be useful.
