Same issue here. I thought this worked when they first rolled it out? Tidal is useless on Plex without Cast support
I disagree that it’s useless without Chromecast as I use Tidal+Plex quite a lot when away from my local network, it’s great.

I am patiently waiting for the CC support. I think it is an essential and mandatory feature and I truly hope it will come pretty soon. Does Plex dev team had an implementation date for this feature? What is the actual priority for it?

Tidal is worthless without casting. I thought failure would have been fixed by now. However, apparently this is not a priority. Cancelled Tidal and frustrated Pled would even promote such a failed integration. I wish I never wasted my time on this.
It seems like this shouldn’t be a licensing limitation of Tidal, as Roon doesn’t seem to limit streaming of Tidal through it’s platform.
I have the same problem. Whenever I try to play a tidal album when I’m connected to my chromecast audio, I get the message about unsupported remote playback. I have occasionally in the past been able to start playback on the client and switch afterwards but that’s not working now. The cast/ player icon is greyed out if I’m playing a tidal album. Casting works fine from within the tidal app. I hope this can be fixed soon!
Same problem here, not resolved by July.
I started trial period yesterday, only because I want to have a remote from which to control de desktop app. Surprisingly, only Spotify so far have something of the sort, but Plex + Tidal integration would be perfect to unify both streaming and local collection. It seem I will have to wait…
