Plex won't add metadata for certain shows

I’m trying to add a number of different TV Shows and to my server and although PLEX sees the shows and properly matches them it does not download any of the metadata for them. I currently have a few hundred shows on the server all of them added at the same time with no problems except the following shows:

Frontline
Cops
How It’s Made
Modern Marvels
The Joy of Painting
Pokemon

(All of the problem shows also have hundreds of episodes each respectively, not sure if that is relevant and I’m including a copy of my logs)(File removed)

Thank you for the reply and I did as you said, but still no luck :C

I double checked all my connections and disabled IPv6 on the NAS but still no luck with those shows, strangely enough I added a different show (Rome which has 22 episodes) it and it pulled all the metadata for it without issue.

I’ve done the full step by step PLEX dance after every solution you’ve given me with no luck, and I was able to add all but 3 seasons to modern marvels and had it pull the metadata properly. I just don’t understand why it works for other shows and even for other seasons of modern marvels except for these.

I have a problem with the XML also. The ‘media’ and most of the ‘Part’ are missing. It affects shows for full seasons on series but not all seasons. Those that work/don’t work are:

All seasons of Friends don’t work
First 7 seasons of Seinfeld work last 2 don’t
First 3 seasons of Home Improvement work next two don’t.

Attached are my logs and screen shots. The first two are those from an episode that doesn’t work.

:C Still nothing after the permission changes, I honestly don’t know what to do I’ve been using plex for a number of years and have never ran into this kind of problem. I try to add Frontline and it only pulls the first 9 seasons and then leaves the rest with no metadata and when I add Pokemon it doesn’t pull metadata for any of it.

WEEELP after all else failing it seems updating to the new TV Show scanner preview not only works well, but also fixed my metadata problem. Thank you greatly for your help trumpy Happy Holidays!!!

Updated to 1.21.2.3841 and am now seeing new scanner/agent selection but no matter what I did it didn’t fix anything.

Thanks for remembering me. I just got around to downloading and trying the tool. Well, I went ahead and renamed my files with it - super simple. Now the last two seasons of Home Improvement work but the first three don’t. I am renaming the first three to the old names. I expect all will be good and those series that didn’t play at all will now work.

Well, Trumpy,

I got Filebot and it fixed things like above. But I have tried all kinds of naming combinations with zero luck. My files exist on a NAS and have these permissions

The highlights mean 777 permissions (R/W/X), everything

Same with the seasons

The files have read and execute

As I am sure you would guess, most of the Part information is missing from the XML.

I don’t think I noticed this before in the logs

This makes me think it is Plex. Notice the .py line number in agent_get_version and line 108 in sandbox.py also KeyError: 'plex’

hmmmmm. I am going to post it on a communication with the Plex people.
