Plex wont detect new movies added

Server Version#: 1.31.0.6654
Player Version#:

I have had my server up and running for a few months arlready and everything was working perfectly, everytime i added new files the server detected them and added them to the libraries.

Last week i added a few new movies to the folder where i have all my other movies and the server didnt add them to the library; tried adding a new library with just a few movies, including some of the movies that the server already detected but after scanning the library a zillion times i still dont see any movies in it. I already tried this
-adding new movies to my movies library
-adding a new movies library and adding movies to it (inside a new folder on the server)
-checked permission on the new files (they match the permission on the old media)
-replaced permission on the new folder i created to everyone (full control)
-tried using different agents
-tried with two different hard drives on the same server
-disabled my symantec endpoint protection (it has been installed from day one)

Added a few tv shows and the server detected them and added them to the tv shows library with no problem.

So im guessing there is an error with the movie scanner or movie agent or something like that. I havent installed any new software/hardware since the last time the movies were added succesfully. Any idea where to start checking for a problem?

OS is windows server 2019
CPU Dual Xeon E5-2689
RAM 96GB

I’m not aware of any general issue with movie libraries.
Your server logs should show if there’s maybe some issue with your database – if so, you could attempt to repair the database.

Given you mention the server used to add some of the files to your library earlier, this is probably not related to some weird unsupported file formats or bad file naming.

Thanks for the answer.
I tried to repair the database following the instructions on that link u provided but it didnt work.
But since you mention it could be a corrupted database i remember i once change some setting on my server to store the database backup on a different drive; i had a copy from 2 weeks ago.
i copied the file to the database folder for my plex server, renamed the old files with a bak extension then renamed the backup files from my backup folder to the right name and boom!
Opened plex, it updated the database files and when it started i ran a scan and the new movies started to populate in my library.

THANKS!
