I just started using plex a few days ago. Everything has been going well but today it stopped working. I’ll click to open the plex server and it bring me to a tab in my browser as usual but it’ll just be a blank page and fail to load. When I launch from plex.tv it says “server is unavailable”. Why does the server become unavailable sometimes and how am I supposed to fix it when it does?
I’ve pretty much the same issue but I have been using Plex for a couple years. It’s on a Win 7 32 bit system. I’ve now lost the ability to load plex or open its’ web page on my server itself. I can still load recordings to the monitored folders and my chromebook “client”, which can open the app, sees the new videos.
I noticed the problem a couple of weeks ago when I opened plex on my chromebook and it said that there was a new update for my server. I think I said to download it. Then I received a message about needing direct access to the server so I could respond to any needed prompts. I couldn’t get plex to open on the server itself.
Right now the client is prompting me to download Version 1.15.2.793 on my server. Should I download that as well (maybe it’s the same one I already downloaded but it’s not registering as downloaded and installed.
I have all sorts of access to things through the client. What should I check for. Also, I just bought the lifetime plexpass as it just went on sale. The purchase was just this past week, well after the issue.
Please help,
