My Synology Plex server has been broken for web client since 1.15 as well. It generally will work if I login with my user but if any other user logs in I either get “No soup for you” or I get general weirdness like the home page displays but if I click on any other type of library it just keeps refreshing with the home page. Actual Plex clients such as the OSx one or the Roku one appear to work fine. It’s just the web client that is broken. I’ll probably post a new post with more detailed info when I get the time but I wanted to add my 2 cents that 1.15 is broken for me too so Plex doesn’t just dismiss that this is a random user issue. I’ve had zero issues until 1.15 was released.
I did a complete re-install of Plex and 1.15 is still having issues. The issue appears to be related to switching users. If I launch a web session it will work with any plex managed user that I originally select. However, if I switch to a new user the new user session will either not be able to find the server or the home screen comes up but most other UI elements don’t load with just the home screen being displayed. For example, if I choose my movie library, I don’t see the movie library screen and instead only see the home screen refresh. If I get some time I’ll probably just do a complete re-install of 1.14 to verify it’s a 1.15 issue.
This was a fresh install with a new DB so I doubt the DB was corrupted. I ended up doing a fresh install of 1.14 and now my server is working again. There is an issue with 1.15.
It would have been nice to have your logs prior to reinstalling.
It would have provided a datapoint so we can track down whatever has gone wrong.
I did delete the Plex shared folder between installs. At the time I was mostly interested in seeing if the behavior would persist with a fresh install of 1.15 which it did. Then I was curious if it would persist with a fresh install of 1.14 which it didn’t. If you need the data I’d be happy to assist in troubleshooting by either upgrading to 1.15 or doing a fresh install of 1.15 which ever you’d prefer. One more data point, I also upgraded to DSM 6.2.1-23824 Update 6 which came out around the same time as 1.15. Not sure if that is relevant but it’s probably something else to be aware of.
Yes! Definitely agreeing with Chuck on this. You should’ve shared the logs here with best free iTunes gift cards, so that the support team could understand the issue better.
