Hey, so iv scoured through and read all the other topics about this and nothing has helped.
My Plex media server is hosted on a Synology Nas
My issue is I have some files that will just never play, they will endlessly load with the spinning wheel, now these files didn’t always do this and I have successfully played them in the past.
My current issue is an episode of The Mandalorian, I watched it fine a week ago on my TV, and even tested it on my desktop first before going to the TV, played without issue. today one of my family members wanted to watch it and it won’t play, just gives the endless loading. I have tried playing it on desktop, xbox, chrome, 2 diffrent tvs and a roku same issue across all platforms.
Now here is the kicker, i have had this issue in the past with other tv shows, and have fixed it by just reinstalling Plex media server and then all the files play correctly. The annoying part is this is the 5 or 6th time iv had to do this and i want to know why this keeps happening and its rarely the same shows multiple times in a row, could be new shows that I havent played yet or on a show I’v watched dozens of times, previous episodes and following episodes work fine. just random episodes decide not to load until I remove Plex media server from Synology, reinstall it, then I have no issues until a week, a month or a few months later when we come across the next episode that wont play.
because these files have played correctly in the past across multiple platforms and they work after reinstalling plex i find it highly unlikly that it is a file issue, with MKV, or H264,X264,X265
has anyone any information on why this is happening, or what could be causing it, i cant be the only one having these issues, and from the posts with similar titles alot of them have just died off without resolutions.
