I have been trying to add 7 movies to a movie library containing 265 properly working movies. I see there are numerous responses on the form about agent preference, file permissions, naming conventions, completing the Plex dance. I have tried all these options, to the best of my limited tech abilities, but to no avail. Therefore, I have provided my zip file of logs (attached) and some context below. Hopefully someone can lead me to a successful conclusion.
Also, after playing around with the aforementioned tactics, I have created secondary problems (e.g. movies listed in a collection no longer show art work). I’d be curious if this example issue is related to my main issue of the 7 new movies not being recognized by Plex.

Context:
A couple of the 7 movies I’m trying to have Plex recognize are “Coco” and “Kingpin”. All files are in mkv format. My naming convention does not include “(Year)”, but that doesn’t seem to be a problem with the 265 properly working movies. My server is a Nvidia Shield connected to an external hard drive.
Just because bad naming works for some content does not guarantee that it will work for all content. I have started using:
MovieName (year) (IMDB_ID).ext
and I get no mismatches. Of course I did not have many mismatches using:
MovieName (year).ext
I just added the IMDB_ID so that the few that I had would not happen again.
Thanks for the reply. Before I try your suggestion, could you please provide context on why you think deleting my Plex folder and reinstalling is the best option? Did you see something within the logs?
