In my home theater that all components are truehd 7.1 capable, everything works perfectly direct playing everything including dolby atmos.
However every remote device that is not capable of truehd 7.1 gets an error that says “playback has stopped because the connection to the plex media server has been lost. please ensure the server is available and retry” If I choose a movie without the 7.1 it will connect and play fine, so no issues actually connecting to server.
Sometimes if I select a secondary audio stream it will play, sometimes not. If I select a movie that does not have truehd 7.1, it will stream anything remotely.
It appears as if Plex will not transcode audio if the primary audio is truehd 7.1, which most of my newer movies are.
This is happening across a range of devices, galaxy s9 phone, firetv, fire tablet, etc.
I have tried updating to latest server and several older versions. Server is a windows 10 w/ 9900k and 32gb ram, plex is on a SSD, files on a NAS
