Plex Xbox 360 Issue

I have 3 xbox’s and they all work great. Setup the NAT on port 32400 external to internal on same. THen signing to plex with username and not pin. I think that will work for most people you might need to restart your xbox after doing the NAT. Double check the connect screen under the server settings in you website and if you get the green ticks should be working.

thats it

I ran into this issue as well. I tried using the fix on DD-WRT but it didn't work. I'm also on a firmware 20180 which according to that bug report is already fixed. I resorted to switching to a 1:1 NAT on port 32400 which fixed my issue.

For whatever reason PLEX directs UPnP to make a PAT (Port Address Translation) from External Port 14581 to Internal Port 32400. So to bypass this, you must setup a manual port for 32400 in the PLEX server settings, this will make it to where both external and internal ports will be the same which is a traditional 1:1 NAT. After which you will need to know how to add the proper port forwarding rules on your router/firewall.

Everything works fine now and my friends/family can still access my PLEX library externally as well.

Hopefully an Update will allow the XBOX 360 app to recognize a local server and use it's local IP and Port number instead of the external IP and port. Still find it annoying i need to be signed into XBOX live in order to use the app, this means any internet outage will not allow me to play media on my local library. All in all it's a good first attempt

I'm having the same problem on 2 Xbox360s.  My router (Netgear C6300) does not support NAT loopback.  Signing in with my login/password instead of PIN didn't have any effect.

Hi,
I was with the same problem, but now its working.
I've made some changes using tips from the Plex forums:

1) Configure in your router/firewall a forward to port 32400, so you'll be able to access your Plex server outside your lan.
2) Configure your Plex server to use this port (32400) instead of automatic one, in Settings -> Server -> Connect (with advanced options enabled).

It seems that XBox app needs to connect to Plex server using the external IP, but I think all the stream goes through local network, I need to test better.

for thos ehaving this problem, NAT LOOPBACK is the same thing you can achieve with PORT FORWARDING, or n  my case the router calls it, GAME AND APPLICATION SHARING, you need to have port 32400 (or whatever port you setup, 32400 is the default) assigned to the pc where you have plex server installed, i already had this, but i HAD TO MANUALLY SPECIFY in plex server commection settings that i wanted to manually use that port instead of set it automatically (even when it was the same port number xbox only worked when i set this to manually)

I’ve just upgraded to Plex pass, Xbox 360 won’t work,Xbox one won’t work.if I uninstall the Plex app on Xbox one then reinstall it it works but soon as I restart the Xbox one fails every time, can’t connect at all with Xbox 360 works fine on phone I’ve tried everything on here I have bt homehub 3,one Xbox is connected via cable the other connected via wireless connection

Thanks

I’ve tried connecting to port 32400 in Plex but it won’t connect to that

I’ve now downloaded the Plex pass version it seems to be working but I’ll need to test when I get home

I've tried the various fixes in these forums for the XBOX 360 plex client. None of them have worked for me. PMC will show up in the xbox but always "unavaliable". Would really appreciate some advice. I'm an IT professional so I shouldn't have any trouble understanding complicated suggestions. I see the same message as the screen shot above.

Under Advanced Server options, change "Update Channel" from "Stable" to "Plex Pass". Worked for me.

Ok holy crow - I don't know if it was changing the server update setting to the "PlexPass" stream (thought I already had that set) or if it was the latest client update, but it's working for me now. Finally! Nice!

Wow!! This was the fix! So simple. Thank you birgirgs.

i seem to have a problem but it's not that i can't see the server. i can indeed see the server and all the metadata. i can navigate through it all.

my problem is i can't actually play anything! i try and play and sometimes a brief screen comes up showing the show info, like 720p etc etc, and a subtitles on/off, but then it skips right over that to tell me that it can't connect to the server. very weird as i said because i can see full folder/file/metadata info

i have tried all ideas in this thread so far. i have logged in and out of everything and changed the "Update Channel" to PlexPass.

i am running server version Plex 9.11.7.803 from a ReadyNAS 104 to Xbox 360.

any updated ideas?

Here's a quick question...what do I do if I can't get Plex Pass on that dropdown? It only says STABLE for me.

Is your server signed in to your PlexPASS account on the Settings / Server / Connect page ?

0.9.1107. And I believe it is now, yes. I'm going to give it a try.
EDIT: That did the trick! Thank you, sir!

same problems here on Xbox 360 - server not found.

Windows 8.1. PC is running PMS.

I enabled port forwarding of 32400 in my router, but for PC and Xbox 360.

Set PMS to manual port and use 32400 but make sure port forwarding is open for the Xbox 360 as well.

After I opened the port playing media was no problem.

one problem remains:

the servers shared with me - for some reason - I can select but will end up in my own shared libraries instead.

I just started having this issue. Everything works except Xbox 360 app.

Plex Server in on Windows 8 64bit

Plex Server Ver: 0.9.11.7

I verified I can get to my Plex server from external IP http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.:32400/web/index.html

Checked the Plex app status per the message on the Xbox http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-live-status

I have completely deleted the app and save data, reinstalled on XBox and still same issue.

For some miraculous reason mine now works! No idea why our how but I'm happy.

after i set all devices to static IP, no firewall or anything like that, still 2 of 4 360 could not find the plex server , and xbox one could not direct connect and only securely, resulting in horrid playback quality

so this is what i did on win10 server side :
disabled secure connection , default is preferred (this seems to fix the low resolution issue on the xbox one)
added the IPs to the never require login list , separated by commas
and fixed the IP in DLNA (most important) every time your computer got a new IP assigned by your router , the original IP stays, and so confuses the xbox about the location of the plex server

it looks like this :
IP=192.168.0.100,DirectPlay=true,DirectStream=true, blablabla

i only changed the 1st IP to the static IP of my server, and boom suddenly all xbox’s started working flawlessly , there are other IPs in the command line, i did not fixed those as i was glad it finally works flawlessly

i hope this helps
