style radio and genre radio are mutually exclusive.
like you, I prefer my embedded metadata. we get genre radio.
IMO mix builder > all.
do note, there are 2 modes of mix builder (use the 3 dot menu);
- mix = only selected artists
- radio = selected artists + related/similar artists
as for filters, you can save them as an auto playlist
further, you can create filters/auto playlists that are always shuffled, see @ [TIP] --- how to create an autoplaylist with random sort
i don’t think the radios are expected to stay only wthin the exact genre or mood, there is variation/similar artists to consider.
if you want only specific genre, then use a filter based auto playlist with only those specific requirements.
you can disable the ‘smart shuffle’ @ https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/web/general > settings > library > uncheck ‘enable smart shuffle’.
