Plexamp doesn't recognise Airplay Network streamers

Hi,

This is my first forum post, so apologies in advance if I’ve got the wrong place.

I’ve got a Synology NAS and installed Plex server on it previously. I’ve also got a Yamaha ISX-80 network speaker and Yamaha R-N402D Network receiver. Both the Yamahas support dlna and Airplay.

I currently use Synology’s DS Audio app to stream music from the NAS to the yamaha streamers via airplay. I tried the plex app for android at the time, but it couldn’t see the streamers.

I got the email last week about plexamp now being free, and supporting Airplay. So I installed it on both my Android phone and the Windows PC version. But neither recognises the Airplay devices. The plexamp apps see Chromecast devices such as TVs on the network, but that’s no use to me.

Have I misunderstood plexamp’s airplay support? Or is there some setting I need to change somewhere?

Plexamp supports AirPlay on iOS. it’s not available on Android.

That’s a pity. If you’d mentioned that in the article here it would have saved me an hour trying to get it to work

I guess I’ll have to stick to DS Audio…

@gareth889 just out of curiosity. Do you have DLNA enabled on the Plex server? Should be in Settings > DLNA

Worth a shot… You might need to restart the synology and or turn off/on the Yamahas and back on.

Unfortunately not. Plexamp is not able to work as a DLNA controller. No Plex client is.
