I searched for assist to get Plexamp onto Fire TV Cube. Is there a fork in toaster way to get Plexamp onto these devices?
Plexamp is not available for “Android TV” devices.
Thank you. I wanted to be sure I wasn’t missing something. It’s a killer app, completely delightful. When an app for Fire TV appears, it will be welcome!
I did find a way to get the PlexAmp audio into Amazon Fire TV cube.
I run Plex server on the both the main windows PC and the Android Fire TV, so the connection between devices already existed. I used the “CAST TO” option on the Windows PlexAmp, and ran the Plex client on the Fire cube. PlexAmp was able to “see” the existing Plex server, so the audio cast from PC was received on the Fire Plex client.
Of course, controlling PlexAmp remotely via the Fire remote is a little learning process, but I was secretly surprised it all played well together. I have a total of three Fire cubes on my home network, so I have yet to test it on other Android Plex devices.
Personally the PC based options are so spectacular, I’d certainly hope for a version expressly for Fire TV.
