Is it me or Plex/Plexamp on iOS and Mac doesn’t play hirez and downsamples to 48KHz?
well, I think my audio is going out at 44.1khz but yes, plexamp is downsampling the audio on my phone. I know as I’m using an external dac which displays the sample rate. it’s a shame as plexamp actually shows the samplerate too, it just doesn’t output it.
The prism music player is compatible with plex and does output HD audio to an iphone dac which is nice, though it can’t cope with DSD for some reason, defaults back to transcoding the audio into a lossy form and then plays all future songs trranscoded until I kill it…
I’d love to see plexamp supporting HD audio and DSD for output to an external dac. the iphone certainly supports both as I’ve got other plays that do, but they’re a lot more fiddly to use.
