Plexamp iOS 3.0.2 bug: prevent screen lock

Hi, I love how this app is evolving but with this particular release I’ve found a bug that at least is present work iOS 13.4.1 and iPhone XR:

When the app is being used, the app prevents the iPhone to auto lock the screen, I have my iPhone set to auto lock the screen after 1 minute, but while using plex amp, even if this is NOT the foreground app and another app is at foreground, my iPhone screen never auto locks.

Please further check and fix this.

Let me know if additional info is needed

I’ve seen this when plugged into power source, but as far as I know we aren’t doing anything explicitly to cause this :thinking:

Definitely this is something that was not occurring with previous versions.

Previous versions of Plexamp? I’m positive nothing’s changed between the first release and 3.0.2

Hi Elan, well it is a fact that when plexamp is being used and iphone is being powered, the iphone screen never auto locks, even if the screen is locked and it lights, it never dimms out.

When not powered this does not happen; I’m pretty sure that this odd behaviour was not present with previous versions

Screen will stay on if plugged in with other apps it’s not Plexamp specific

Hi.

I tested with Spotify and even if the device is connected to power, the screen auto locks and if screen is locked and turns on, it auto dims.

Also when Spotify is NOT the foreground app, it is not preventing the iPhone to lock screen and to dim.

Also did some testing with Mixcloud and Mixcloud is not preventing my iPhone to lock screen at the set time and also when screen is locked and the screen lights on, it automatically dims

The problem is with plexamp, for some reason plexamp is preventing the iPhone to lock the screen and to dim a locked screen

Hi Plexamp and Plex Labs teams,

Please further look this issue. Even with the latest version 3.0.3 this is still present, and as mentioned in previous replies I tested other music streaming apps and the problem is NOT present with them, only with plexamp.

I’d be glad to provide additional info and do testing if needed

I get the same issues it’s most annoying because I put music on at night whilst phone is on charge and unless I physically lock the phone so screen goes out it never goes off. And if I then get a notification the screen lights up and never goes off again without my interaction.

Btw I’m using version 3.1.0

The issue is still present with the latest plexamp
Release (3.1.0)

Any news for this? Running Plexamp 3.1.1 and still have this issue.

I want to also add that I am having this issue only with Plexamp and no other music player or application.
