Plexamp iOS 3.4.3 Could not connect to player

I can open Plexamp (iOS), connect to my remote player and select a song. When I try to pause or change the song I get no response. If I disconnect and try to reconnect to the player I get an error that says Could Not Connect To Player. Rescanning makes the player disappear completely. The only fix is to restart Plexamp on my phone. This does not happen with the regular Plex app and I can use that even when Plexamp will not connect.
