Plexamp load times incredibly slow on Wifi

Plexamp runs fine on the PC I have media server installed on.

Plexamp runs fine remotely over mobile data.

If I attempt to run plexamp on my phone or a laptop on wifi and try and play a song load times slow to a crawl, album art takes forever to load. bandwidth usage barely hits 1mbs.

console shows the error “Unable to find client profile for device; platform=macOS, platformVersion=20.5.0, device=macOS, model=” when Im trying to play on mac over wifi.

while testing with my phone over wifi Im getting

Error issuing curl_easy_perform(handle): 56
HTTP error requesting GET http://192.168.0.1:45514/agent.xml (56, Failure when receiving data from the peer) (Recv failure: Connection was reset)
SSDP: Error parsing device schema for http://192.168.0.1:45514/agent.xml

any help in getting to the bottom of this would be greatly appreciated!

Similar issue. Plexamp takes multiple minutes just to load a track list. On my home WiFi where my server lives. This app is traaash.

I just play my music with normal Plex. No idea why Plex team thinks this useless Plexamp app was in a state to release. It’s real bad.

Seeing as there are many users (me included) having an excellent experience with Plexamp, perhaps you could approach things a little more, er, constructively. There are plenty of knowledgeable people on here will to help troubleshoot problems if you approach things a bit better.

My issue had something to do with my network setup. I had an overly complicated setup including 2 switches and a repeater after years of bolting things on as my needs expanded. Just bought a new router so I could move away from the one provided by my ISP and rewired everything directly with no switches and the problem has disappeared.

not sure if it was the repeater causing problems or the crappy CODA 4582U router from Rogers, but either way Im suuuuper stoked.
