Plexamp low volume on phone headphones (wired)

I’m having an issue on my LG G8 phone with Plexamp. When listening through wired headphones, the volume is much lower than other music apps on my phone, and requires me to max out the volume to listen to it at just a moderate level. I tried changing various settings within the Plexamp app, and they did not seem to help, with the exception of going into the equalizer and moving every slider toward the top. This helps somewhat, but is still softer than listening to mp3’s with other apps such as Poweramp on my phone.

Any help would be much appreciated.

try switching to AAudio in Settings > Advanced > Audio Interface and see if that helps.

some of this is due to the loudness leveling, which you can also disable.

Thanks for the advice, Elan. I don’t really notice a difference changing either of these two settings. When changing to AAudio. Volume is still moderate at maximum level.

you may need to restart the app (at the very least playback) when changing the settings.

Yup, I tried that. Killed the app and restarted. No change.

the loudness leveling setting should absolutely make a rather large difference, so not sure why you’re not seeing that

I have it turned off. Volume of 75 (the max on this phone) in this app is softer than 50 in other apps.

you don’t happen to have settings in those other apps that UP the volume? or an application of sorts? i have “automate it” that when i plug in headphones it lowers the volume to 30% so i don’t blow out my ears… just an example of something that might be restricting sound.

No I don’t think that’s it. I can see the volume sliders and nothing is reducing them. All other music apps are louder and max volume is too high. Plexamp is just moderate at three highest volume.
