Plexamp isn’t displaying Album titles correctly in iOS 27 (Golden Gate). Wondered if a fix was in the pipeline, or if there was something you were aware of and were working on?
I’ve heard reports of that but … it’s a beta and I honestly don’t see how we’re doing anything wrong
It’s the same titles we pass for e.g. lock-screen.
I’ve been seeing this bug since the first iOS Golden Gate Public Betas.
It may well be an Apple bug, but if I were a bettin’ man (which I’m not), I’d bet this issue is still going to be present in the final release of iOS 27. So Plexamp may need a workaround. ![]()
Here’s what I can say about this issue from my ongoing observations (from what I can recall, anyway):
- It seems to only apply to the first distinct album title of a track in a play queue started after CarPlay is connected.
- Notice I said “distinct album title”. If you’re playing an album, then the album title displayed on every track play of that one album will be truncated just like that. If, on the other hand, you’re playing a playlist or mix, and the displayed album title will change when the track advances, then the new album title will display correctly for every subsequent album title after that first album title.
- If you had a preexisting play queue in Plexamp started before CarPlay connected, the album title for the currently playing track will display correctly in CarPlay, as will every subsequent album title.
So it’s a very specific circumstance where this bug is seen: The first (and only the first) distinct album title displayed for a queue started after CarPlay has been connected.
That’s an oddly specific bug to be Apple’s (though I wouldn’t put it past them), but my money (if I had any) would still be on this being a fix or workaround needed on the Plexamp side. ![]()
