I created a playlist in PlexAmp with just the songs from two Nat King Cole albums. The playlist showed up in PlexAmp fine. I went to my Plex (launched from Syno) in the browser but the PlexAmp playlist didn’t show up but it did show the Nat King Cole playlist I created yesterday (the one that still isn’t on PlexAmp).
I shuffled the playlist on PlexAmp and skipped all the songs twice (I let them play a few seconds) but there was no crash.

Had another crash this morning. Looking at the logs, it appears that PMS was stuck in a loop of trying to figure out how to transcode two songs (see “Bob Dylan’s 49th Beard”).
I had a crash last night while listening to music with PlexAmp. I was on my home WiFi. This is the second time its happened on WiFi here at home. I had to go to Quick Connect on my Syno to restart Plex, which had crashed. Once I did I was able to play again. (I also went to the Plex app on my iPad and could play movies off my other Syno unit - which points/pulls from the 1620+ Syno, meaning that Syno unit is fine - it’s Plex that has crashed.
I downloaded the logs from PlexAmp. See attached. I also downloaded from Plex and am attaching that as well.

I suspect we have two different issues causing the same crashing. The photo transcoding of album covers in your logs looks like it was having issues. I didn’t see anything like that in mine. I think mine might be a problem transcoding the music itself.
My music is housed on my Synology and are largely ALAC files (probably 97%). I do have some hi-res files from special boxed sets or special issues from things like The Beatles, Tom Petty, Paul Simon, Rolling Stones and others.
Plex creates album covers but I do mine manually over the years so it’s hard to know which are which given the thousands of songs so the photo transcoding seems to be an issue. And it seems to happen (crashes) when I skip several songs in a row (though it’s not always the case). What’s interesting is that it has happened here at home on WiFi twice now in the past couple of weeks whereas it always was when away from WiFi.
I do need to update Plex version and will do so this week.
Interesting, about 80% of my music is lossless ALAC files too. The rest is FLAC.
I had a couple of PlexAmp drops where it crashes Plex in Synology. It took me quite a while to get Plex restarted - and staying running on my Synology by using Quick Connect to log in and restart Plex. Today was a bit of a beast.
I downloaded logs from the PlexAmp after this happened and also logs from Plex. I got these from my iPhone. I also downloaded from my Plex app on my computer.
I have not yet updated Plex, sorry. Been swamped.
I hope you’ve gotten some progress on resolving this issue. Unfortunately the crash today came at a horrible time (no need to explain) for what I was doing.

I was traveling for a few days and, even on hotel WiFi, the Plex app crashed on Synology several times. I had to use Quick Connect to log in and restart it. This affected playback of movies, TV shows and music (PlexAmp).
I am attaching the logs from both my Plex app on my phone and from desktop browser/Plex.
Sure would be nice to get this resolved.

Was anything ever discovered as to why Plexamp is causing PMS to crash?
My server was up and down like a yo-yo today… after a bunch of troubleshooting I come to find it’s my Plexamp player in Windows. Seems to be when it’s caching a new track or trying to pull album art, which line up with this thread (and of course what brought me here).
Interesting: after my last post I kept digging a bit. Thought crossed my mind that most clients often ask to re-login after some time. However Plexamp has never done so as far as I can remember. So I logged out and back in to refresh tokens and all that jazz. Have yet to see the crash. Fingers crossed it was just a stale login token…
At least for me, the crashing stopped. I think mine was caught in some type of loop trying to determine how to best transcode when playing remotely. It’s a while since I’ve had a crash, so I think changes in some of the latest beta versions have fixed this.
