Plexamp / Plex app home user switching does not work

Hi!

I would have a problem that I recently registered for a 1 month trial period with tidal via plex.
Unfortunately, I was faced with the fact that plex does not display tidal to home users. only at the admin! In the plexampt application, user switching does not work. it always asks for my password which is correct but the wall user switch doesn’t happen!

Does anyone know a solution for this?

See if this user’s solution works for you:

“Unlinked and re-linked my TIDAL account to my Home User account”

Where can I do this? i can’t find such an option?

and why don’t I see tidal in other home users in a plex app? why only in admin? so useless if only the admin can listen to music, other users can’t!

Your Tidal license only allows one user. So it is illegal to share your Tidal account with your Home users.

it’s a joke isn’t it?

you have to pay 12 per month for it and it can only be used by the admin user. beautiful.

so unfortunately for me it is useless. I’m sorry, though it looked very promising, lots of good content. but so that the rest of the family cannot use it is useless to me.

and why is it possible in the plexamp application to switch users if it doesn’t work?

  1. The Tidal license is made by Tidal, not by Plex. I know it would be perfect if you could share your Tidal account with all your Plex users.
But this is not allowed, not licensed, not legal.
  2. Plexamp can be used with your own music files. Which are stored on your own Plex server.
This is in fact the main use case of Plexamp. And managed users are perfectly able to listen to your own music, on your own server.
  3. A Plex Pass owner has the ability to invite “full” plex.tv accounts (i.e. accounts which have their own set of email and password) into his Plex Home.
Each full plex.tv account can have an individual/separate Tidal account connected. Thus each user is technically able to use Tidal.

thanks for the information!

What I did was register a Tidal Family account. Manually invited each of my users to the Tidal family account.

Each member was then able to link their Plex account to their Tidal account (which is added to my family license).

I am not using managed users though, each user had their own account which I then invited as a friend to my Plex server.

I know this is less ideal since it utilizes the family plan but I think it accomplishes what you are looking for.
