PLEXAmp : Random Album Radio?

Im still looking around the interface of PLEXAmp, and loving it more all the time.

I noticed today, under stations, there is a new selection : “Random Album Radio” does anyone know what this does? Yes, I could play it and find out, but conversations abound about this great new plex player … thanks PlexLabs!

Thanks

EB

Ok, I found this is … Its now in my PlexAmp interface and will pick a random. album in my library and play it, when done, pick anothjer album at random and start to play it – Thanks PlexLabs

You’re welcome, @ebstone! Don’t forget the magic key combo for skipping albums too  Shift+CommandOrControl+Option+Right

edit: removed

I believe you need to make sure your server is updated to the latest release (mine’s on version 1.12.1.4871). You should then see the new radio station show up in plexamp. See this thread.

Is there a key combination for Windows?

Should be the same key combo (Shift + Control + Alt + Right arrow); you can also customize and make it whatever you want.

and random album radio hit the non plex pass users - thanks @elan

Worth noting that the “skip album” function doesn’t work if the next album hasn’t yet loaded into the PQ (for example if the current album contains more tracks than the PQ loads ahead). Not sure if there’s any possible fix as I’m not sure if PQ size is limited by client or server. Workaround is to skip tracks until the PQ populates ahead with the next album.

Yep, we could also increase the PQ “window size” to increase that possibility
