"Random Album Radio" Not Working in Plexamp (Linux / Ubuntu Studio)

I’ve been experiencing issues with the “Random Album Radio” feature in Plexamp on both my desktop (Linux) devices. While other stations (e.g., Library Radio, Deep Cuts, Time Travel…) work perfectly, “Random Album Radio” consistently fails to function properly in the desktop version of Plexamp (AppImage and Flatpak gives the same results).

Details:
I’ve tried both the Flatpak version of Plexamp on Ubuntu Studio 24.04 and the AppImage version. In both cases: “Random Album Radio” doesn’t play anything but displays a “(!) Couldn’t start playback” error message. Other stations like “Library Radio” and “Time Travel” work flawlessly.

What Does Work:
When using Plexamp on Android or via Plex Desktop (Flatpak), “Random Album Radio” works without issues. It also works when accessing Plex through the web app in Brave Browser. Beside this issue everything else seems to be working fine.

Additional Context

  • Server Setup:
    My Plex Media Server is running on a Raspberry Pi 5 (8gb) with a Plex Pass Lifetime Membership, and all other features and clients function correctly.
  • Troubleshooting Steps Taken:
    • Tested “Random Album Radio” on multiple platforms: Flatpak, AppImage, and Android, on two different versions of Ubuntu Studio (22.04 and 24.04) on multiple computers.
    • Verified that other station types work perfectly across all platforms.
    • Confirmed “Random Album Radio” works in the Plex web app (via Brave Browser) and Plex Desktop Flatpak.

Questions

  1. Is this a known issue with the “Random Album Radio” feature on certain platforms?
  2. Are there specific server or client settings I should adjust to ensure this feature works across Plexamp clients?
  3. Are there any logs or debug steps I can take to help identify the root cause?

Here’s what I believe is relevant to this issue based on the timestamp (17:30h). This log captures the exact moment I opened Plexamp (Flatpak), attempted to play Random Album Radio, and encountered the error message ([!] Couldn’t start playback):

I don’t see any attempts to play the radio on the server side, so potentially client-side Plexamp logs after attempting would be useful.
