Is there a breakdown of music ratings values relating to how tracks are treated by Smart shuffle?
Essentially I’d like to know what effect my ratings have if I choose, say, 2, 2.5 or 3 stars. Will they still be in rotation or do I need to rate above 3?
I’ve created a new music server because sonic analysis isn’t available on shield. I’d like to take the opportunity to re-rate with a less haphazard approach
= 2.5 stars (or 5/10) is considered “good”.
less than that is considered “bad”.
good or bad influences how likely you are to hear tracks.
Awesome, thanks. So is it as black and white as that then? Anything between 0.5-2 is hidden from smart shuffle. 2.5 up is 100% “good”? No scaling involved?
No scaling, but it’s more subtle than “hidden from smart shuffle”—low rating/high rating biases the shuffle, but it’s not absolute. In Library Radio (and some other stations), however, low ratings will remove the tracks from consideration.
