Plexamp remote control and player issue

Hoping someone can help with a solution to this issue.

When there is a song playing on the desktop player through plexamp -
I wish to take remote control of the player via the ios plexamp app.

However when I connect to the desktop player plexamp the song will automatically switch to the current song in my playlist queue on my ios app.

Is there a better way to connect via remote control to avoid this issue? Or is there a way I can quickly clear any now playing song on my ios app (perhaps reset to nothing playing state) so when I remote control connect to the desktop player it will not interfere with the current song playing.

I feel you.

Long-press the play button (either on the now playing screen or on the minimised bar) to stop the music so you can connect without overriding.
