From time to time when I’m playing random songs from a station or playlist plexamp will only play the last 3 seconds or so of a track. Sometimes this happens with multiple tracks in a row before it goes back to playing the full track. I have never noticed a pattern in this behavior so I’m not sure what’s causing it.
It sounds like you might have the “Store track progress” option enabled, found under advanced library settings. This option is intended for libraries containing non-music audio, such as audiobooks, and should not be enabled for music libraries.
Having the same issue and found this topic via search. For me the problem is that I have one big music library which happens to contain normal albums but also 1-2 hour long mixes of electronic music. For normal albums this function generates the aforementioned issue while it is very vital for the latter.
Isn’t it possible to implement an option not to store progress for track shorter than, say, 15 minutes? Also a track that has been played previously should not resume 2-3 seconds before the track’s end when it is played next time.
What do you think? For me it would be very time consuming and illogical to create a separate library for long tracks…
Sorry, it’s all or nothing right now (it would be a fairly arbitrary cut-off point).
Give that Plexamp resumes a play queue in the right spot, you shouldn’t really need that “Store track progress” unless you want to come back to the mix days later and resume it, e.g.
Plexamp always keeps a play queue, even if you don’t see it (yet) in android auto. Killing and restarted Plexamp will leave it paused exactly where you were before.
Hi, I have a fully music-based collection and get the same issue multiple times a day with Library radio functionality. I’m probably being silly, but I can’t find the option for “Store track progress” in my Windows 10 or Android 10 Plexamp settings. I’ve been though all options including the Advanced section, but not seeing it. It would be great to fix this, as it’s my only annoyance with the app at the moment, everything else is running great!
Thanks, I had been looking on the server too, but had been looking in the wrong place. I’m still a Plex novice! I was looking in Settings->Library->Advanced Settings, instead of Manage->Libraries->Edit Library
Is it on by default? I found this thread by searching because I was about to post about the same problem, but I am sure as all hell I’ve never seen that setting before, let alone turned it on.
Anyway, problem solved, back to enjoying my music via PlexAmp — thanks!
