Plexamp system stray icon missing in Ubuntu

Since previous topics have been closed already, here is a new one.
On Ubuntu 20.04 there is no system-tray icon of Plexamp. The possible solutions posted in the already closed topics do not solve the above mentioned problem for me.

Does anyone have an idea on how to solve this?

If you’ve not already seen it, I wrote a guide here:

If that doesn’t sort the issue, let me know

I already have a desktop file and the launcher icon so i can start it. The problem is that when started, there is no icon in the system tray so i can control plexamp.

Apologies, I misunderstood what you were asking.

Plexamp implements MPRIS, which should mean it’s visible in the OS’s sound menu, and you should be able to control it from there. In terms of a system tray item, I don’t think it’s something that’s likely to be implemented, as system trays aren’t widely supported cross-distro, they don’t work under Wayland, and Gnome for example has removed support entirely.
