I was just trying out Plexamp on iOS and, though it looks like a nice streamlined player, I was curious what are the advantages of using Plexamp vs using the regular Plex app for music?
It really comes down to personal preference!
Plexamp has some unique features, for example UltraBlur, mood radios, and all the other new discovery features.
But for me, the decision came down to it being more optimised for music listening. If I’m commuting to work and want to listen to music, it’s the most direct way to get me to what I want. Less scrolling, searching, browsing in general. And movies/TV doesn’t get in the way of it. Overall, it’s just more “slick” for music listening, in my opinion.

plexamp would be a better candidate to be used with CarPlay than the full plex app.
It’s definitely on the roadmap, pun not intended. To my understanding, the current roadblock (okay, maybe the pun’s a little intended this time) is receiving Apple’s approval for it.
