Plexamp without Google Play

Is there any way to install Plexamp to Android device without using Google Play Store? I have Fiio M6 and it doesn’t support GP, but .apk files can be installed on it.

It wouldn’t work for you anyways. PlexAmp is only available for Plex Pass users, which I see you are not.

That’s why I’m asking before subscribing. If there’s .apk for Android, I probably will subscribe to Plex Pass

For those of us who have a Plex Pass and already using it, PlexAmp still has some kinks to nail out. It really isn’t much worth it for you to get a handle of PlexAmp if you’re not willing yourself to pay the $5 for the month and try it out if there are some stuff still missing like Chromecasting, a repeat button, and still not as good for Audiobooks just yet. If you don’t want to part ways with your hard earned $5, then just hold out until its fully ready. There is a reason why PlexAmp is behind the PlexPass users, early access to new stuff thats not meant for the rest yet and its not a full-fledge Plex umbrella app yet.

I would have to kindly disagree with you :grinning:

PLEX Amp is a game changer! It offers far more than any other media player out today, yes, including Spotify, Apple Music etc … PLEX Amp was built for those who want a different music experience. Not having a repeat button, or audiobook abilities (as of yet) does not make it broken, nor does it make it “not ready”.

I hope and encourage PLEX and its developers to keep PLEX AMP as a pay item, without a doubt. I will gladly give my money to help support added and continued development of PLEX Amp.

A a side note, if you can show me a piece of software that doesn’t need some work, well then … oh forget it, it doesn’t exist. There is always room for improvement with anything computer related. Many would say Windows is still in beta and look how many people use (and rave) about that software … LOL …

Just my .02

Have a great day … stay safe and stay in

The question was why can’t he or she download the APK for the sole purpose of TRYING it out to see what all the fuss was about. The problem here is that Plex Pass users are ENTITLED to this perk of Plex Amp for the continued support and being granted that access through the usage of the Plex Pass for signing into Plex Amp. The guy want’s access to something that Plex Pass users have access to. So, regardless of Plex Amp is a game changer or not, pay up the $5 to get the download. How hard is that to understand? The access will grant him the opportunity to help the devs with feedback and to see if the app works on his or her phone.

Im a bit perPLEXed (LOL) … I fully understand your post, as well as the original. What confuses me is that you gave your opinion about PLEX Amp

Are others not entitled to theirs? … You know what you wrote was an opinion of PLEX Amp right? Im just giving mine. Its not hard to understand at all.

I would further say to Gandrushka that trying out PLEX Amp will NOT bring them disappointment, but musical listening bliss (or fuss) as you referred to it as many will testify to … .

Opinion in forums are just people expressing their views of which all are welcome … I just kindly with a smiley face disagreed with yours …

Have a great night … and Gandrushka let us know how you love PLEX Amp

I bought Plex Pass, installed Plexamp on my portable player, but unsubscribed from Plex Pass after that. All i wanted was download to sd card, but that feature is not avaliable, Plex Player is not usable on my player, it’s screen is to small and UI of app is not adapted to 3.2 inch displays

Just to clarify, you can download to SD card using the Download settings, but the card has to be formatted as external storage.
