When I start plexamp and start a music it simply won’t play, event if I click on the play button, nothing happens. nothing wrong with my server because it works well on my other PCs.
I just encountered this issue and, for me, it affects both Plexamp AND the Plex App from the Microsoft Store (I’m on Windows 10)
I have removed and reinstalled Plexamp twice, including removing all of its files AND rebooting. I have also rebooted the Plex server (also Win10) twice.
The two computers are about five feet apart, with a netgear switch between them and network connectivity is ABSOLUTELY NOT an issue here, nor is external access, since my parents are currently watching a show from the server and they live miles away, quite outside my home network.
The Plex App from the store plays VIDEO media just fine, but nothing happens when I try to play music. It appears to ignore the click on the play button. At least Plexamp switches to a completely blank (except for the ugly gradient color it uses) rectangle when I click play, so I’m pretty sure it saw the click.
The Plex Web App (in Chrome, at least) will play both video and music just fine, so the server seems willing to send it.
Any ideas why Plexamp and the Microsoft Store Plex App would both stop playing music?
Oh, PS: Since I uninstall Plexamp, remove its folders (where the program was and the %AppData% files) and cannot find anything belonging to it in the registry, reboot and re-install – how in the h*ll does it start up already signed in and connected to the same music library I had selected before installing??? Is there something stored on “Plex Central” with my IP address that saves all of my settings for me? Could THAT be where the broken bit is to be found?
EDIT: I just learned of v3.0, which is working correctly. (Strange that v1.1 told me I had the latest version when I asked it to check.) I also learned that the Microsoft Store app was retired, so I uninstalled it.
