Plexamp won't work on local files

Trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong here. I’ve installed Plexamp on 2 different iPhones, and on my Mac. It sees my server and connects to my music channel. (local files)

  • view playlist
  • click to play
  • rapidly goes through each song on the list…but none of them ever play

I’ve tested it with other sources like Podcasts, etc and it works fine. What’s the secret to playing local music files?

My service is on an Intel NUC with external Synology storage.

I’m not sure what you mean by “local files”, locally on your iPhone, not from your server’s music library?

almost certainly a server access issue if it’s able to browse your server but not play. a server log (or plexamp log) would show the gory details.

local files = server’s music library

All of the music shows in Plexamp. When I click to play an album, for example, it scrolls through all of the songs and doesn’t play any of them.

Problem solved. It was a permissions issue on the Synology. Thanks!
