First, THANK YOU FOR THIS ADD-ON. It solves every problem I have with Apple TV 2 and Plex! Now for the question: Is there a way to add the Plex plugins as a short cut, like you can the XBMc add-ons? I would love to throw my Hulu and Netflix plugins up there with icefilms and you tube. That would be streaming nirvana!!

UPDATE: I actually just realized that none of my channels are actually working through PleXBMC. Should I check another thread for this? The main ones are Hulu, Netflix, and ESPN. Thanks!

I got PleXBMC running smoothly on my 1st gen. Apple TV, but all my movies are being shown with the wrong poster for each one. TV shows are OK, but movies are all screwed up. Fanart and synopsis are correctly shown but not the poster. Any ideas? I already removed and reinstall PleXBMC but that didn’t fix it.

Thanks for this great piece of software. I also face a problem with PleXBMC: I installed XBMC+PleXBMC on my server and I can successfully browse my PMS library with PleXBMC locally on the server. Unfortunately I can’t do this from outside my LAN. I tested exactly the same with Plex Media Center on my laptop and I was able to successfully browse my remote library when I was at a friend’s home. So I know for sure that my server is published to MyPlex, the port 32400 is forwarded to my server from the router. When I run PleXBMC it simply says 0 items loaded after like 2 seconds. PleXBMC is configured with my server external IP address, username and password of my PMS account etc but I simply can’t get this to work. I’ll post logs files later today as I’m at work right now.
as much as i like this addon don’t you think this will be surpassed by the dlna option plex will be offering in an upcoming version?
just wanted to know if i will be able to access my media via xbmc sections? as in if i goto my xbmc and click movies, will my plex server movie items appear there? or is this a new section/tab/addon section to goto?

I think, that this great AddOn will be obsolete with the DLNA-Version of Plex. Anyone tried that already?

I’m really sorry I haven’t been around for a long long time. There are a couple I reasons for this - one being the complete lack of time. I coded Plexbmc in my spare (and quite often company time!), but since September I have been run off my feet coding up a server check and reporting tool.
The release of a windows version of Plex client kinda took some of the urgency off plexbmc although I would have expected a better version by that client by now.
Now that Eden (which was one if the things i was holding off for) is released I am trying to find time to pull together a new release. To be honest it’s probably working as well as it can, (i use it everyday)although one thing I was going to look at us caching for library loads (I have 1200+ movies in mine and it takes far too long).
As for dlna, it depends what the Plex server can push through. It might be transcode only, plus I doubt it will play DVD video structures (non-ISO).
Maybe writing a “dlnaclientprofiles.xml” file for the XBMC client would help? I don’t know much about this, but it sounds like this would be the way to go.
Just wanted to say thank you so much for the work you've put into this. It's given me a huge amount of joy as part of my Apple TV 1. I'm looking forward to seeing what else you can do with this, and I appreciate all the time you've devoted to this project.
Things are working mostly smoothly for me; I can intermittently use the Channels, though sometimes they just don't work. It's nice to be able to browse hulu, netflix, and especially access live TV through the EyeTV plug-ins on the server side all on my Apple TV 1.
Keep up the great work, I know that we all appreciate it very much.
Is XBMC a dnla client too? I don’t know much about that, although I have just bought a Sony tv with dlna, and was disappointed at the current crop of servers.

Well XBMC is a UPnP client, and as far as I do understand it, DLNA is a subset of UPnP.

Looks like either Plex isn't serving out data in a uPNP compliant manner yet, or XBMC is asking for something perculiar/particular. Given Team XBMCs over rigid stance on standards, my guess is that Plex isn't completely compatible yet..
DLNA working :D but my little mac mini is not beefy enough to handling the transcoding. DLNA through the TV is no way a replacement for a dedicated client - but is a nice to have for occasional viewing.
I love XBMC and your plugin. Any chance of getting Netflix working with your plugin? I know all of the people on this topic and the XBMC forum would love you for that. Its really the pnly thing missing from xbmc honestly…
I use PleXbmc in Appletv2/XBMC Eden11…Video addons work…work and movies…but it does not work with music…load the list of songs,but the music does not work…

I have installed XBMC Eden with plexbmc plugin ver: 1.9.6.3 on my windows 7 machine as-well as copied several DVD movies to my plex server. The plexbmc plugin works great with AVI movies but, when I play a VOB I have to click on the video TS file in order to play the movie.
What I am asking is how can I play a copied DVD movie located on my plex server just by clicking on the fan art in Eden and not having to click on the video TS file?

I have a problem with PleXBMC.
I can see all data from the PMS, (text version) but I do not have access to the images like posters, etc. the function within the PleXBMC is turned off to not look for images. But still… and every now and than XBMC just crashes randomly…

BTW: XBMC and the PMS are on different machines (PMS - MacMini, XBMC-MBP)
