How do i setup with the new ATV4? Would it work the same as the older versions?
Don’t know… there where a couple of trials in the early days of aTV4, but I never really kept track of this.
Tried the PlexConnectApp instead?

Some of us without Mac computers to sideload the app are still waiting for the PlexConnectApp to be released to the app store!
Will Plexconnectapp be released to the App Store? Mac less users would appreciate it.
If it’s jailbroken it’s quite easy to sideload with or w/o a Mac. Otherwise you can run a VM of OS X on Windows and sideload it that way…instructions to sideload either way is in this topic:
There is also the official plex app on the App Store…
What would the purpose be of getting PlexConnect running on ATV4 when there is an officially supported Plex App in the tvOS App store?
IMO, Plexconnect is the gold standard and the Plex App is far from it in many ways. I was an early adopter of the aTV4 and the Plex App but quickly learned the app was a work-in-progress at best. The wife and family hated it, so quickly went back to the aTV3 & Plexconnect and everybody is happy. Still watching the app progress which has been updated a couple of times but it’s current state is NOT where it should be. I still wonder why the Plex folks didn’t incorporate the functionality that existed in Plexconnect (which is a third party, not by the Plex Team) in their app and can only surmise it was another example of software engineers copping an attitude of ‘not invented here’. Oh well, JMTC
