RasPlex requires a dedicated RasPI, and it is an alternative to the AppleTV.

But some people are using RasPI for several purposes and want to use their AppleTV to connect to the TV. In that case it is possible to install PlexConnect in the RasPI. This guide can be of help in such situations.
