Nice to hear those success stories, too. Normally I only see issues... :-D
I can agree to that. PlexConnect is simply awesome!
The first setzp and run was a 5 Minte-Job.
I then worked on a simpler way to use it, so I figured out, how to setup my DD-WRT-Router to automatically intercept all connections to trailers.apple.com an redirect to my PlexMediaServer.
In my Network all Coonnections from AppleTVs are automatically rerouted to the PMS, so no cinfiguration of any AppleTV is required…
Thanks for PlexConnect!
I just want to chime in. PlexConnect is great! It worked right out of the box.
It is just plain AWESOME. Great work guys
I would like to echo this sentiment. In the past i have tried different plex clients, not with great success:
1) Laptop (controlling it using plexapp remote on iPhone was not very nice)
2) Rasplex (good client, but too slow to our tastes i think due to not so greate hardware)
3) Raspbmc using Plexbmc (same as above, due to limited computing capacity of Raspberry pi)
Before PlexConnect, we used to use airplay from our iPad or iPhone. I was never happy as we had to use another device between ATV and plex server. So as soon as i heard about PlexConnect, i installed it on my iMac running plex server and started using it under 5 minutes. And it received the stamp of approval from my other half (who is not tech savy etal) and kids immediately. Because of it the usage of plex has gone up many folds in the household. The existing PlexConnect meets 85% of our requirements. The things that are missing for us are:
1) BBC iPlayer (10% of the usage). I can use alternatives like xbox to watch iPlayer for the time being, till developers implement channels
2) myPlex: Occassionally (around 5% of our usage) we 'Plex It' some of the online content for later viewing. We can use iPhone to airplay this content till developers implement it.
All i would like to say is a big thanks to everyone involved in creating PlexConnect. It definitely made content viewing using plex more easy and enjoyable.
Mine was up and running in no time as well. I have a few requests, but they are all minor. I'll wait until the code stabilizes and all the important stuff is done before I beg/plead/ask for them. :)
Excellent job, guys!
I now LOVE my ATV3!

You should share your method for all of us. Start a thread!
Okay, I’ll to that. Starting a thread…
Okay, I’ll post a tutorial later today… My iphone just screwed me over and allready written text is gone…

1> channels will be forthcoming
2> MyPlex is already on the roadmap

There is already a tutorial on the wiki on how to do this:

Great. Thanks f00b4r. PlexConnect team's work is very much appreciated.
I have to also say a massive thank you to everyone involved in making this 'just work'. I've been using the Plex app on a jailbroken ATV 2 and although the apps great, the jailbreak has issues which means I have to constantly reboot my box (at least once a day) which is far from ideal.
I wiped the jailbreak, installed 5.2.1 and got PlexConnect up and running in minutes and it really does 'just work'. I have a couple of small niggles but this is still early in development and I have complete faith that these will be addressed looking at the roadmap.
For anyone still unsure, take the plunge. It really does 'just work' :D
As everyone else has already mentioned, PlexConnect is absolutely fantastic. Had it set up in a matter of minutes on my unRaid box (after changing the unRaid webui port), and it's been flawless since then.
I'm contemplating updating my other ATV2 from 4.4.4 to the latest FW to take advantage of PC. Has anyone had experience streaming content to two ATV's concurrently using PlexConnect?
Thanks to the developers - really looking forward to where this project is headed.
