Plexconnect is not working on my Windows 8.

Hi guys,

 

I need help on my setup, I can't get my windows 8 to work on Plexconnect.  It's not intercepting the trailers.apple.com from my apple tv 3.

I was able to get it to work with the previous versions of Plexconnect.

 

I downloaded the codes from github 2 days ago, both the XML_templates branch and the version_check branch and now it suddenly not working.

 

Here's my Settings.cfg

I set my machine to static so that I can get the same IP anytime and that is 192.168.1.140.  Plexconnect and PMS is running in the same Windows 8 machine.  I've set the loglevel to High and I've tried changing the ip_dnsmaster to 121.1.3.81 (which is the DNS of my internet provider) and I've set my appleTVs DNS server to 192.168.1.140 and here's the log:

By the way, I also have a MAC and I have no problem running the Plexconnect on my MAC.  I have tried both version as well, the XML_template and the version_check branch.  I was just wondering why it's not working in my Windows.

I am not sure if it is relevant, as i thought any successful GDM would override it, but you appear to have changed your PMS's default port, can you change the following in settings.cfg:

port_pms = 32400

to

port_pms = 32414

changing the port_pms from 32400 to 32414 was not able to solve the problem.

What I did was I started from scratch, unzip the codes then double click on the Plexconnect.py without changing anything from the Settings.cfg.  And now it's working, is that suppose to happen? I don't need to change anything after downloading the new code?

It should work out of the box for most users (the only change being the DNS server in the settings of the ATV), however some users do need to make tweaks.

By the way, I'm still experiencing the same problem.

The other night it was working fine, then I shut down my PC and standby my AppleTV.  Now when I tried to double click on the Plexconnect.py, same problem happen, it was not able to intercept trailers.apple.com. :(

Received a Win8 update? Re-enabled the firewall? Got the firewall rule for PlexConnect kicked out?

When I checked the firewall it was disabled.  Do I need to enable this? This firewall rule should be on python.exe right?
