HI Guys
I have an APTV 4 hardwired into the home network which finds the PMS no issue . On the same network via WifI my APTV 2 Plexconnect no longer sees the PMS. I always worked hardwired but not on Wifi!!!
But all my other devices find PMS via WiFi so not sure wy PlexConnect is no longer finding it.
I have signed in and out but it just finds a shared library.
I have checked my server settings and i have the green tick saying available outside the network. But this is on my home network??
• ATV 2 (JB)
• DNS 192.168.2.254 (Modem)
• 192.168.1.105
• ATV 2
• PMS sat on WHS 2011 Version 6.1 Build 7601: Service Pack 1)
• PMS Version 1.0.2.2413
• PMS on 192.168.1.115
• PC Version ‘0.5-dev-110616’
• Settings.cfg see here
• PlexConnect Log see here
The issue is here I can no longer get PlexConnect to even open. It initially could not find Wifi but now it says it is not available try later. But all other apps on ATV see Wifi and work!!
Any ideas, please?
Please post your Settings.cfg
HI Guys
My PMS is on 192.168.1.115

Also, note this used to be hardwired LAN but need to use this one now over WiFi. I am having to do a manual Network setup on the APV to get my icons up.
I can no longer access it i get not is not available

I would first go back to the standard config and get it working, and only then modify to use a different icon. Here is my settings.cfg. NOTE: I have dedicated ip’s for the machine running PMS & Plexconnect.
As you can see there are some obvious differences.
enable_plexgdm = False
ip_pms = 192.168.1.131

port_dnsserver = 53

Not made any difference

Just get PlexC not available try later but all my other apps connect to Wifi and work !!!
I’ll assume that you have rebooted the computer, and the apple TV, correct? And that you’ve got a valid profile loaded into the aTV as well. It appears something is stoping visibility of your computer running PMS & Plexconnect. Change your loglevel to Normal and try again after rebooting everything. Then take a look at the log, it might provide a clue.
Where is PlexConnect installed ? In the ATV2 ?

I’m not familiar with ATV2 JB, but DNS should not point to your modem. It should point to the machine where PlexConnect is installed, in your case the ATV2. The ATV2 should also have a fixed IP (in your case 193.168.1.105).
My PlexConnect does have a fixed IP address. How can i find the DNS of a ATV?
In my ATV3 it is in ATV Settings
Hi moody_blue
The ATV will not find my WiFi on Automatic so I have to set it up manually. I enter the DNS as the router and it works accept PlexConnect. I need one of the gurus to help me I think as everything i have tried is not working
If you are able to define a manual IP then you should be able to specify a manual DNS. It’s in the same ATV screen.
I can define one but which one do i set ?
I have tried 8.8.8.8 on Settings.cfg and ATV DNS manual set but nothing works:(
I’m also having the same issue. How do you get into your settings.cfg.
Also I’m getting a 109 error when adding to my profile on my ATV3.
No- dont use 8.8.8.8, set up the ATV for WiFi automatically, then change the DNS entry to the IP of the ATV2.
As far as the iPhone config tool not installing the cert, try a different version, I think there are 2 versions out there, use the latest one. I I tried two different versions of that and one of them didn’t work at all. Same error. But then I tried a newer version and it worked fine. Make sure it detects your Apple TV 3.
Actually now that I think about it I tried setting up my Apple TV 3 through Wi-Fi and the performance was just so poor that I plugged it in. Using the direct connection I get 60 megabytes per second d/l connection, through the Wi-Fi I only get 30 megabytes per second if that much. And that’s through an N router.
