PlexConnect not working even after new ATV work around

Users/yourusername/Applications…

Now I'm just getting a "23:57:23 WebServer: Failed to access certificate:" error. I've tried relocating the PlexConnect folder to the username/Applications folder and the main Applications folder (& changed the path in the settings file to reflect that) but no joy.....

What does your current path as written in settings.cfg look like now.

I've now reverted to the default path: ./assets/certificates/trailers.pem

And I'm getting this:

00:07:59 PlexConnect: ***

But I still get the Trailer Not Available error on ATV.

This is what my settings file looks like:

[PlexConnect]
logpath = .
enable_dnsserver = True
ip_webserver = 0.0.0.0
prevent_atv_update = True
port_dnsserver = 53
enable_plexconnect_autodetect = True
port_pms = 32400
port_webserver = 80
ip_plexconnect = 0.0.0.0
certfile = ./assets/certificates/trailers.pem
ip_dnsmaster = 8.8.8.8
loglevel = Normal
ip_pms = 192.168.178.10
enable_plexgdm = True
port_ssl = 443

Also, and I don't know if this is connected, but I've been trying to access Trailers on my ATV and every time I do, new output shows up in Terminal: 00:16:21 DNSServer: DNS request received!
00:16:21 DNSServer: Source: ('10.0.1.25', 61756)

I tried connecting to https://10.0.1.24/ from my browser (something that was mentioned in some other forums) & I get a 'Not Serving Client' error.

I also tried it with https:// and 443 as port & I got an 'Untrusted Connection' response.

Did you try:

Users/yourusername/Applications/PlexConnect-master/assets/certificates/trailers.pem

as the absolute path?

If so I would make sure you have the correct version of Python running on your computer. 2.7 is recommended, 3 and up is not supported.

How do I check which version I have? I downloaded it from the link you posted.

Also, I've got the plex folder on my desktop now and this is the path I've put into the settings file:

certfile = /Users/myusername/Desktop/PlexConnect-master/assets/certificates/trailers.pem

That path looks good. Its the same as mine. As for Python, what version is your operating system?

OS 10.8.4

You should be OK. run

python -V

in terminal

Got this: Python 2.7.2

That should be good. If you have put in the correct absolute path, I suggest shutting everything down and restarting and see what happens.

OK, I'll try that. If that doesn't work. I guess it wasn't meant to be :)

Thanks for all the help though.

FYI, restarted everything and got the same result.

I suggest recreating your certificate/key again, but maybe we need some fresh eyes on the problem.

"absolute path" (Mac) should start with a "/".

But it really shouldn't be needed...

He added that slash in his last attempt

Yes I did. No luck.
