Has anyone got PlexConnect working over Wifi, would be interested to hear from you all?
I am currently trying to setup PlexConnect on Ubuntu where my PMS media server currently runs.
I want to setup PlexConnect on the same machine with it being on 24/7 but require assistance with installation configuration on Ubuntu so that PlexConnect will work over wifi, anyone know the settings required to allow this?
It should work but if you have issues with reliability I can highly recommend using homeplugs (the 200Mbps ones should be sufficient for even 1080p content if your wiring is decent).
Thanks f00b4r the issue I have at the moment is the wiring in house due to it being old.. homeplugs are not supported... not getting good throughput must be to do with the old wiring - hence at the moment I have PMS serving over wifi 5GHz to Samsung TV where I have no issues able to stream 1080P without any issues just hope PlexConnect will be able to support this... thoughts?
if you have a good signal, it should work as it's suppose to been using it over the past week over wifi and I can stream 1080p movies just fine. The response is smooth too.
The only problem I have is the poor internet connection in this 3rd world country that I'm from.
Great thanks for that f00b4r are you one of the many devs behind plexconnect... if you are I must say thanks your doing an excellent job
Yes I am one of the team behind it, although it is Baa and Roidy who are doing the actual coding, a brilliant job too in such a short space of time. :)
What do I need to do to get it to work over wifi? My modem and router are in the basement and Apple TV is upstairs by my tv so I would love to find out how to get this to work over wifi.
