Curious if anybody else is experiencing this exact problem. For four weeks now in a row Plex DVR consistently has a problem recording all of Amazing Race on CBS. While much better on other channels (though not perfect) CBS seems to be the biggest source of issues (or just what we watch the most) At best it records about 80% then suddenly stops with the circle spinning and gives the error message:

That is a new error the last two weeks, prior to that same behavior but a transcode error message. Also Seal Team failed this week to record more than the first 10seconds (the show that follow immediately after on CBS). Client level is the .666 version. I have 4 tuners on the network and am trying to fully transition OFF of WMC on a Win7PC. I have had to keep the WMC up and running, so the family doesn’t riot me. I have to still recorded our shows on both WMC and Plex so that when Plex screws up, we run down stairs to watch WMC….even though much older technology, never seems to fail. So I know its not the HD Homerun Tuner or OTA signal (since same show at same time records perfectly on the Windows Media Center). I disabled the commercial skip feature to help minimize complexity in debugging.

On the plus side movies (not Dvr’d) work great
Many of the issues I’m having are with CBS channel too and I didn’t have them a month or two ago, it just started and hasn’t relented. The shows record but watching them has issues, and sometimes can’t even watch the whole thing. I can watch them on the web app, but Amazon FireTV and Samsung TV apps don’t work.
I haven’t had any issues with CBS, are you using the transcode feature? By default the transcode and commercial skip work flawlessly on CBS for me, i play it back on a xbox one without issue.
Crook, I had to disable commercial skip as it would lead to serious screen garbling when it would jump to a post commercial spot. Trans coding is enabled. It WAS prior to .666 just having the problem of recording the whole show but simply not moving past the last portion, freezing up, and nothing you could do would let you watch last 10ish%, post .666 it is more problematic throughout. I just put the last drop on and we will see this coming Wed, if we have any improvements. I have tried streaming it back on a PC and two different Samsung PC’s with same results.
The recent builds seemed to have stabilized the CBS issue for me. Survived the last two Amazing Race episodes with full recordings, but I havent dared too turn commercial removal again.
…And we are back. Just updated to the latest PlexPass Build last night and recorded Survivor. The Prior 2 weeks had recorded flawlessly. This time smooth until the last 10 min. It DID recorded but kept breaking up, pixalating, sounds issues. However, I KNOW it was not the tuner (HDHomerun) or OTA signal because I still have my Win7 WMC running and DVR’ing (because of Plex issues) and same show, same channel, same signal recorded smooth and flawless. So when the whole family groans and moves downstairs to finish watching the show and wife says yet again “can we please get rid of Plex and just stick with WMC for shows” …well it gets old.
