this is what has been happening to me for a while. I think it is related to me crash bug.

can you all check your console and see if you have some message about being unable to spawn some process and then the plexify status messages stop?

this is what i mean… after this appears i have the same symptoms as others are describing

Plexify For Windows

 
A lot of you were asking about the Windows version of Plexify. I'm happy to announce that we're developing (started about a week ago) an app for Windows. I'm really excited to share this with you. My goal is to make the app available for all platforms and this is only the beginning. Several days ago I started to rewrite Mac version from scratch. Actually, that's not the best thing to do (Never rewrite code from scratch) but it was necessary to make Plexify better. In the near future I'll start developing something for Linux (mainly for Debian based distros). But first things first. 

The current (alpha) version of Plexify for Windows is really simple and it's compatible with Win XP, 7, 8 and 8.1 ( maybe even 2000 o.O ), written in C++. It doesn't have any windows - just a simple tray application.
 
A little bit about more Plexify.
- The latest version was downloaded ~1300 times.
- In the nearest future I'll make Plexify open source.

Again, thank you so much for your awesme job! Will the windows version have (in the final) all the mac feature and future features like choosing which channel plexconnect will hijack and Auto-Update from GitHub?

BTW-I suggest you'll make a big line between Plexify for mac and windows and post the windows announcment under the line, or open a new thread for Plexify for windows.

I think that this thread needs to be linked in the Wiki Guides. It's the best way to run PlexConnect for most Mac users and soon Windows and Linux too!

Have downloaded Plexify and dragged it into my Applications directory, double clicking it seems to do nothing.  I'm running Lion.  Any ideas?

Cheers ghost, I’ve managed to get the app to load by moving the .nib into the root dir of the package if that helps

From what I can see, there's no way to relaunch the AppleTV steps tutorial, is there? The button that says "skip" is where normally one would expect "Next" and friends of mine have skipped before realizing.

Being able to launch both the installer (to reinstall) and the AppleTV tutorial (for multiple AppleTV's or skipped set-ups) would be fantastic. The AppleTV tutorial could be launched from the Help tab. The reinstall could be in the "Danger Zone"

Certainly. As with earlier posters on this thread, I dragged Plexify into applications, double-clicked and got no response. No evidence that the app is running.

By double clicking the app it appears at the top in the taskbar. From there you can click on plexify to open it

BTW, bug i got a few times:

I am not putting of the Hackintosh the Plexify works from. The reason for that it that it's not that loud and nobody sleeps in that room so atv's will always work that way. After a few days, i think, trailers is unavailable after a long loading .. And log shows nothing. No DNS request. Last thing in the log, all of these times is Plex media servers found. Nothing after that.

Restarting plexconnect doesn't help - I'm gettings webserser isn't alive.

Anyway, so waiting for 1.1 Final, i guess it'll fix it :)
