I’ve got a .plexignore filtering my music library, but a few albums in the file are still getting through. Each folder that has escaped the filter contains parentheses() in the folder name. Does .plexignore not do some characters?
afaik parenthesis shoujld be fine. They are used in TV and Movie libraries all the time.
can you provide an example of the the expression you used in file and the name of one of the foldes in question

The .plexignore in question is in the top level of my Music folder, along with a zillion mp3s in subfolders by artist then album.
