@croneter is there any way to get Plex News working. I read it was client based so I doubt it but said I’d ask

- If I install PlexKodiConnect, default installation, works great. But playback is delayed. When using PlexBMC it is alot faster to actually serve the video
Try the solution @JDWL proposed:

Hope this assists someone else, I was getting this error in my Plex log every 2 seconds while playing media:
ERROR - Unable to find client profile for device; platform=Linux, platformVersion=, device=PlexKodiConnect, model=I created a PlexKodiConnect.xml profile in the Profiles directory, which is a copy of the Generic.xml:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>Errors stopped immediately and time to play reduced.
As for your other question:

- I try to setup directpath playback, but I since my server is offsite, via seedbox, I assume this is not possible?
It is possible if you somehow make your “offsite” shares visible e.g. as smb shares to PKC. You could establish a VPN, for example. However, you’d need a really thorough understanding of networking ![]()

Today a random bug showed up. It will now show updated episodes of tv shows and missing whole seasons. I tried to update it manually but still nothing.

Could you be more specific? What are updated episodes? Have you tried resetting the Kodi database by going to the PKC settings, Advanced, then reset Kodi database, then Yes, Yes, No?
A little help here. I can not get anything to play from my remoted (Plex Cloud) server. Last time I tried PKC, Plex Cloud artwork was an issue but playback worked great. Trying it out again and it appears now the artwork issue is resolved but I can not get anything to play. I notice different errors on the log. Thanks for all help. Log file is included.

Try entirely resetting PKC: go to the PKC settings, Advanced, then the red Reset the Kodi Database. Then hit Yes, Yes, Yes

There is something wrong with the plugin as every time I do a sync with a new device the same issue happens. It puts the server in a weird state where nothing is playable on any player. Overnight, during the nightly scan, it fixes itself and then if I install PKC again on a new device the issue reoccurs.
Hi,
I use CinemaVision with KODI, and it acts as if it there are no trailers in the KODI db. However I can play trailers directly from the movie info screen. So I opened the KODI MyVideos107.db file in DB Browser, and see that PKC has populated it with paths to the trailers in this format:
plugin://plugin.video.plexkodiconnect/trailer/?id=/library/metadata/146434&mode=play
I have PKC set to use direct paths. Most of my movie trailers are stored locally beside the movie, so ideally these paths should also be in the direct path format. I’m guessing this is why CinemaVision is not seeing them. When I look in PMS at a movie, it has both my local trailer and an internet based one it has scraped. Is there a work around for this or can PKC be made to treat these as direct paths, by only syncing locally stored trailers?
Thx

plexkodiconnect will not connect to plex server after Libeelec 8.2 upgrade. Not sure if this is a plexkodiconnect or a Libreelec issue. If i find a fix i will report back.
thanks
Last time i tested this, the deal breaker for me was the inability to have separate media libraries. I have home movies and fitness libraries in Plex and they all jumbled together under Movies in Kodi. Has this been resolved yet?
Cheers
Chris

Been possible for as long as I’ve known the plugin. Video Nodes and Skins · croneter/PlexKodiConnect Wiki · GitHub
Apologies, you’re correct, the issue was using random movie fan art for background and that showed pics from all libraries not just movies.

So it is not just me, does anyone know if this has been fixed or if there is a work around?

The latest libreelec.tv update 8.2 is DISRUPTIVE as there are many changes to the smb setup - which PKC relies on if you use direct paths. Please follow https://libreelec.tv/2017/10/libreelec-krypton-8-2-0-release/

Unfortunately, showing artwork is entirely up to Kodi. As a workaround that might or might not work for you, you could use different Kodi and Plex users, see Several Plex Users · croneter/PlexKodiConnect Wiki · GitHub

That’s either a PKC feature request - or a CinemaVision feature request
. Above format plugin://xxxx works Kodi-wise regardless of whether you use PKC direct paths or not. The add-on CinemaVision could also choose to support this kind of call ![]()

Thanks but Emby does the artwork separation perfectly? That is what I can’t understand. I select within the Kodi skin random movie artwork and it only shows artwork from the movies not my fitness or home movie libraries. PKC doesnt do that it shows artwork from all libraries.
@croneter
thank you for the reply and link.
However it appears to be over my head. Would you prefer I ask on the LibreElec forum for help or continue here?
What I tried so far:
Kodi Settings > Services > SMB client > Maximum Protocol version > SMB1 and tried SMB2
LibreElec > Services > Minimum supported protocol >SMB1
LibreElec > Services > Maximum supported protocol >SMB2
No Go. Any iedas what I am missing?
Thank you
