PlexKodiConnect: Kodi Plex Integration Done Right

Also, PKC does NOT support Kodi nightly versions - there’s too much stuff that can break between “stable” Kodi versions.

If I start playing an episode, it is not marked as “in progress” in Kodi when I stop it after 10 minutes. Plex Web shows it on “Continue watching”. Is it supposed to be like this?

Is it possible to make “PlexKodiConnect - Plex Hub” available as a widget in skins? For example I want to have “Continue watching” from Plex Hub in a widget because of the above issue I have. Also, PlexKodiConnect does not show TVs and Movies before I go in to Video library first. Is it supposed to be like this?

And also, what is the difference between video libraries with or without the Plex icon? Which one should we use?

Thanks!

Yes. The Kodi “sections” work differently than the Plex sections. To use the Plex “logic”, you need to set your Kodi widgets accordingly. See https://github.com/croneter/PlexKodiConnect/wiki/Video-Nodes-and-Skins

Yes. When choosing a movie or video widget, navigate to Video (!!!) - Add-ons - PlexKodiConnect - Plex Hub - whatever your heart desires
Be sure to navigate to Videos first, that’s a Kodi limitation

No idea what you mean. PKC does not “show” anything, it’s the Kodi and the skin doing that. The logic behind this needs some getting used to and is definitely different than Plex

The ones with a Plex icon are made by PKC. Again, set-up your widgets by navigating to Video (for movies and shows) / Music (for music only) - Add-ons - PlexKodiConnect - whatever your heart desires. Needs some set-up time, but once you get the hang of it, the sky is the limit

Worked! Thanks for that @croneter.

is There a special way to install 2.5.8 with RC4 i just did a clean install and PKC wont launch or sync i can access the watch later section but nothing will play … did i miss a step?

You need the brand new 2.5.9

was that released today …? i can try it again

Thank you! The problem is if I go to Video add-on and try to create my widgets, my libraries are not present but everything else is: “Playlist >”, “Plex Hub >”, “Watch Later >” and so on. My libraries are present if I chose Video library and then libraries with Plex icon. And if I choose Plex Hub, I can’t choose anything. All I see is “Use as widget” and not all entries - no matter if I go through Video add-ons or Video library. I’m using Aura skin. Will try another skin now.

One last question: is it possible to create a smart playlist in Kodi with TV shows and “keep” the in progress in sync?

Edit: same thing with Titan Beta. Plex Hub widget is empty. And if I go via Video add-ons, my libraries are not present in the list. Bummer because Plex Hub has “Continue watching”.

Thank you, the new version works like a charm on RC4!

Did i miss something, or is this a bug to report at GitHub?
I tried to delete some of my watched movies with “Delete from Server” in “Plex Settings” of context menu.
Nothings happens.

Is this caused by “Direct Path”-Setup or should this work either?
Never tried before in addon-mode.

Deleting should work, the Kodi view might not update accordingly - check with another plex client that the items are indeed gone. Upon the next full library sync, the deleted items should be removed

Those of us using the stable version of PKC but on the RC 3 of Kodi what should we do? Jump on the beta? Just wait? Manually update the py files with the new database version?

I would suggest sticking to stable until an update is pushed to stable branch.

Being on the beta for this is more like alpha at times so I would not recommend it

Files are not gone. Checked twice with PMP for Windows and WebApp
There is not even the confirmation dialog upcoming.

Should I report a bug with logs on GitHub?

Another question:
Comes the „recently added“ information from kodi or from plex database? Just tried to set the number of items in recently added to „0“ by advancedsettings.xml in KODI.

@jnoormann
Yes please post a debug log on github

@MediaHorder
The beta is just about polished enough now to be pushed to stable. Do keep logging bugs if you disagree

Hehe it wasn’t meant as an insult bud! I just meant it was a bit rough at the beginning. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m sure it’s even better now with 2.5.9, 2.5.8 was pretty good. I haven’t had a chance to try out 2.5.9 as my LibreELEC install corrupted on me but I’ll give it a go soon.

@croneter OK, I will do that. Thanks.
What about my other question quoted above?

There’s many different “views” for “recently added”. Everything within a folder/node that features a Plex icon is provided by PKC. There might be other addons or even Kodi itself providing something similar (if not exactly the same) under the same name “recently added”.

In generell, all information is coming from Plex and stored in the Kodi database. I have no idea what you want to accomplish by setting “0” in the advanced settings

@croneter fresh install of LibreELEC 8.95.1 beta and a fresh install of PKC 2.5.9 is not working me.
