Unfortunately, you need to reset the Kodi DB again if you’ve just activated Plex Music.
Plex doesn’t manage any of that, it’s done with Ember then Metadata agents for exported XBMC library imports it all in Plex

No, but i use Plex for managing my media and metadata. Kodi has no job to do for, exept of displaying what Plex serves. Thats what PKC is made for.
Seems to be an issue with the sync direction.
Your artwork is synced to Plex while PKC is used to sync from Plex.
For PKC Plex is the source of artwork and everything else. In your case Plex has artwork from kodi, so Kodi knows that by itself. So Kodi gots that twice by design - by itself and nessesarily from Plex via PKC.

I don’t think you understand. Ember Media Manger gets all the medadata/artwork and all the things Plex doesn’t support but Kodi does when a file is added it’s also more customizable than the Plex metadata scrapers. Plex doesn’t get artwork from Kodi it gets it from the local files. My point is that PKC doesn’t need to be calling PMS for artwork or Fanart.tv for extra fanart (both of which has caused problems in the past) when Kodi/addons can see the local files and use that.

Both Plex and Kodi got the Metadata from local files placed within the media folders by a third solution - in your case „Ember“.
Okay, from that point of view could be nice to skip loading these things from PMS, if Kodi has them, too. But I think PKC doesn‘t either know, what Kodi-Addons and Scapers are installed or what data Kodi got by itself.
It doesn’t need to know. I am asking for an option to turn off all artwork grabbing from PMS which can cause issues and slow down syncing and let Kodi+AB handle all images.
Woke up this morning …go to play a tv show and it asks if i want to remove this item from library … did my database get corrupted … how do i fix? or will i need to start over from scratch? on Kodi RC4 and PKC 2.5.11
If you are using Kodi nightlies you might want to give tomorrows one a miss. @croneter https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/15185 change to the videodb again might break things i haven’t checked it yet

Sorry, I get like Zero info from your post. I guess something went amiss. I’d just update to the brand new 2.5.12, then reset the Kodi DB in the PKC settings under Advanced

Okay this is my setup Nvidia Shield with Kodi 18 RC4 i’m also running a custom skin but thru testing that doesn’t seem to be a factor
- My Plex Server runs in Docker latest
- i can access and play my files via smb v1 in kodi
- in PKC setting the only thing i changed was playback mode to Native path/ from the original setup add-on and i disabled artwork caching as i run Plex on a nvme (I Have UNC path switch to smb path also)
- on a 1 gbit wired network
- on my server i pool my drives with mergferfs which seems to work fine natively in plex and fine over SMB
My issues with build 2.5.12
- launch kodi PKC logs in and syncs i click on something to play … nothing happens no error
click again looks like something is loading then error… i checked the logs and don’t really see anything - relaunch kodi do the same thing again and media starts playing fine… after watching a few shows I let the system sit for a bit then try to play something again … and i run back into the issues of no playback

Direct Paths cannot just be switched on, it’s pretty much an art to get the setup right. That’s causing the issue. To verify this, switch back to add-on paths, reserthe Kodi library in the PKC settings under Advanced, restart and resync
Once you’re trying to get Direct Paths working, you need to Reset the Kodi database again upon every change you make to the path substitution settings!

How to use the option in PKC to “use plex default subtitle if possible”. How to set up subtitles in kodi to get the subtitle plex selected to play by default?
Subtitle settings are controlled by Kodi.

Just did a fresh install of LibreELEC with kodi 18 RC4 (v8.95.2 BETA) installed PKC (Beta 2.5.12) and it’s not working.
The series and movies get synced and i can see them in the menu.
But there is no artwork for any them and i’m unable to play anything as well.
Used to work fine over here with raspi 2 - Kodi 17.
But on my new raspi 3+ i can’t seem to get it working.
*edit : plex official addon seems to be working.
Anybody experiencing the same issue ?

If Kodi alone controls subtitles, what does that option do?
downgraded to PKC Beta 2.5.11 , seems to work now.
