PlexKodiConnect: Kodi Plex Integration Done Right

I did it, but it’s not working properly, because there is only black screen after the boot logo.
I tried the latest nightly version, and unfortunatelly the same.
I can reach it from ssh and the tvheadend is working too.

I’ve no idea what is the problem. I red that, other has the same problem.
At now only the 8.95.6 which I can use.

The problem might that when you updated the addon on 8.95.6 it tried to create a MyVideos113.db which is now broken/corrupt just ssh in and stop Kodi then delete the MyVideos113.db (it might be a really small file size) then restart Kodi and see if that helps

You can’t use the new beta of PKC on 8.95.6 because it expects a videodb of 113 but you won’t have that

Thank you! The setting worked. But, I just noticed starting playback in latest beta is not working. Just gives me the loading spinner.

Going over to Github now with a debug log…

I am trying to set up a widget or submenu item in Titan to a Plex smart playlist but it’s not working as I think it should.
Not sure if it is me, PKC or Plex.

If I try and set up the widget/submenu using Add-On/Video Add-On/PlexKodiConnect/Playlists the directory is empty.
If I use Add-On/Video Add-On/PlexKodiConnect/Plex Hub/Recent Playlists I get a PKC connection error.
If I use Video Library/Playlist my playlists show up as .m3u files and get the option to play or display. I assume I use display?
The playlist shows up but only as a list of files, I cannot get it to show any artwork or use the standard movie view options such as Netflix.

Am I doing something wrong or is it something in PKC?

Thanks

When using PKC and alexa everything works except resuming videos. I ask alexa to play a movie, it asks if I would like to resume, I say yes and alexa says ok resuming movie. However it starts playback at the beginning, every time and for every video I’ve tried. Does this work with anyone else’s setup? I’m using direct paths if that makes a difference.

If anyone is interested in a “lite” version of PKC, please vote for the feature here: https://feathub.com/croneter/PlexKodiConnect/+45

Basically the idea is to skip the sync and only show Plex libraries on the fly. The EmbyCon add-on is exactly this but for Emby.

Deleted it, but nothing happened. Create it again and not working, the same error.
If I copy and rename the before db file to MyVideos113.db than no error message.
I can start to rebuild the database, it’s seems to be do it. But the database isn’t refresh.
Try it again manually, do the refreshing, I see it int the screen, but the new contain is not inside.

Sorry for that bug :slightly_frowning_face:

Changelog

version 2.5.13 (beta only):

  • Fix playback not starting up
  • Fix Plex channels and watch later not working
  • Hopefully fix playstate not being synced to PMS

Hey @croneter, happy new year.

Wonder if I can pick your brain. Im running Kodi 17 stable on windows. I have installed titan skin, and the PKC 2.5.13 addon is synching perfectly in startup, but I can’t initiate play playback. The interesting thing is that items play when I switch to estuary …wonder if you mind taking a look at the logs as I’m stumped.

Here the log of successful playback when I switched to estuary https://1drv.ms/u/s!AjLrauIo92yxmMlj6yydHIr7ztTUZQ.

Here’s the log of the titan build that just shows a loading dialogue continuously: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AjLrauIo92yxmMlhcAmQFbxLoNJ7gg

Just wonder if you can see anything that stands out?

Please open a new issue on github, following https://github.com/croneter/PlexKodiConnect/wiki/How-to-Report-A-Bug. Please drop your files directly onto github. - I cannot access the log files you linked!

EDIT: I am an idiot. I moved to the Beta repo and installed the latest addon from there and now everything is working fine.

Hello Community,

I thought I would post here before raising a bug, as I am sure someone has picked this up already, I just cant seem to see where it is recorded / discussed.

I am using Libreelec along with the PlexKodiConnect add-on. I have been keeping quite current with the official releases and am currently running:

  • LibreELEC (Leia) v8.95.2 BETA
  • Kodi 18.0-RC4 Git:18.0rc4-Leia). Platform: Linux x86 64-bit
  • PlexKodiConnect 2.4.11

To my surprise, on upgrading a few days ago, the upgrade process did a Database migration. I didn’t expect. All seemed to go well with the upgrade and videos were playing fine with no error from the plugin. Then, last night I realised that the libraries were not updating (however everything was playing fine). After some debugging I just decided to reset LE to factory and reinstall and re-sync.

Now, this morning I am met with a dialog box (on initial database sync after new installation):

"Cancelling the database syncing process. Current Kodi version is unsupported. Please verify your logs for more info."

I have done what the dialog has suggested and have found this:

08:20:41.109 T:140261032138496  NOTICE: PLEX.librarysync: ---===### Starting LibrarySync ###===---
08:20:41.109 T:140261032138496 ERROR: PLEX.librarysync: The current Kodi version is incompatible to know which Kodi versions are supported.
08:20:41.110 T:140261032138496 ERROR: PLEX.librarysync: Current Kodi version: 18.0-RC4 Git:18.0rc4-Leia

Is this issue known?

Thanks

D

you need to use the 2.5.13 version of PlexKodiConnect for Leia Support

EDIT: Oops i just saw the top of your post…im late, LOL

Again if you are on the latest Kodi nightlies you’ll have to bump your videodb to 115 due to this change

And yet another videodb bump to 116 now for tomorrows nightly

It would be great if Croneter could make releases as Leia friendly.

I didn’t realise .14 wasn’t until I came here.

Trying hard.

Do NOT use nightly versions. Every single change to the database on the Kodi side has the potential to break PKC. I also do not want to force everyone using Kodi 18 RC4 or other “official” releases to constantly update Kodi .
Remember that you’re using software that is not yet done if you’re using Kodi 18…

Hi Croneter,

it seems I have several librairies content that are appearing in the “recently added” and “in progress” features of Kodi BUT they are not accessible by the plex user i set to use PKC. Also I untick the “include in dashboard” box on plex side. When I try to play these items in Kodi, it does not work, saying this media is no longer accessible etc.
It seems this happened since last december.

I dont know if this is an issue on PKC or Plex side, are you aware of such behaviour ?
I’m using plex server 1.14.1.5488 and PKC version 2.5.14

Thank you

@cyriltra
Try to reset the Kodi database in the PKC settings under Advanced.

Which is why I’m waiting for the final Leia release before I submit more bug reports.

Sticking to LibreELEC beta releases at the moment, mostly with Plex for Kodi cause playback is a bit wonky via PKC right now (due to Leia).

Talking of the devil - the official Kodi 18 Leia Release Candidate 5.2 is out!

From now on, PKC (beta ) might possibly support several different “minor” Kodi versions, such as currently RC 4 and RC 5.2.

Changelog

version 2.5.15 (beta only):

  • Make PKC potentially compatible with several database schemas
  • Support for Kodi 18 Leia RC 5.2
  • Increase number of attempts to write to Kodi DB
  • Further increase database sync resiliance
