You should be able to access your media FROM your NAS via smb://NAS/Movies (so a network path) even though this network path points back to the same NAS
I can access smb://NAS/Movies on my kodi
In Kodi a Video path is added smb://NAS/Movies I can also see this is sources.xml. My network has no password .
In PKC setting Replace Plex UNC path with smb:// is selected
Original Plex MOVIE path to replace: Replace Plex MOVIE with : smb://NAS is also setup.
PMS is installed on the NAS not on any shared network so the in the Library path I can not add network share as it is locally on my nas as PMS. so the path is direct to HDD . ie /shares/Volume_1/Movies or /mnt/HD/HD1_a1/Movies
So when PKC sync a error message pops up Kodi cannot locate the file smb://NAS/shares/Volume_1/Movies/(Some movie name). Please verify your PKC Setting . Stop Syncing?
This is obvious because smb:// NAS/shares/Volume_1/Movies is not in the sources.xml neither it can be added in kodi.
Correct, sorry for that.
- Deactivate (!!)
Replace Plex UNC path with smb:// - Do step 10 from the link I posted above. For e.g. movies, plug-in (and yes, drop
Moviesin case it’s spelled exactly the same)- Original Plex MOVIE path to replace :
/shares/Volume_2 - Replace Plex MOVIE with :
smb://NAS
- Original Plex MOVIE path to replace :
- Reset the Kodi database in the
AdvancedPKC settings section
Ok thanks That did solve the issue with movie ,
One last thing
Suppose I have TVShows are in 3 seperate disk
/shares/Volume_1/TVShows
/shares/Volume_2/TVShows_2
/shares/USB/TV Shows
Is it possible have these three separate entries as variables in Original Plex path TV SHOWES to replace . May be some separated value.
The solution here is to “mount” all the different media sources in a single NEW folder. Again see the link above, step 5
Thanks for your help and patience. I have all sorted it out .
Though in my NAS(WD EX2) I am not able to share the root of my hard disk or volumes I can only create shares in that .
I ended up creating hardlinks . After adding the hardlinks as PMS library , rebuild the database and replace the path accordingly . Kodi is adding the library .
Once again many thanks for all the help.
Hi,
Question on KODI standard artwork filenames. In my movie’s folders I have artwork already downloaded, specifically disc art. Since the KODI scanners are not being used to scan movies, skins don’t see this artwork. Is there a way around this?
thx
If you’re using direct paths then you can use the Artwork Beef addon to pick up the extra artwork.
Is there any though of incorporating the Plex Live TV functionality?
The new official Kodi 18 keeps crashing for me after ~2 min when you used together with PKC. At first i thought this was a roblem Kodi 18 so i did fresh re-installation , then i saw Kodi works just fine when PKC is not installed. PKC will load correctly all data correctly but crashes Kodi eventually. Weird cuz i didnt have this issue with kodi alphas .
I did some troubleshooting by uninstalling every addon i had and i can safely narrow it down to PKC. I tried a couple of stable PKC version within 2.6 and 2.7 . But nothing seems to work. I am on Nvidia shield.
What version is working for you guys ?
Versions are the same, but nothing works, that I have not tried
.kodi.rar (59.4 KB)
You won’t get very far without kodi debug logs…
Many, many thanks for these logs - that was a mean bug that has somehow escaped all beta testing for a couple of weeks!

Many many thanks to you @croneter for the incredible work you put into your add-on, now time to test that new donate button.
Thx @charlie2alpha . Looks like Leia has a whitelist for some artwork too before it will see it.
@croneter I have been seeing this stop syncing message for a pretty long while, but it was just occasional. It’s frequency seems to be happening more often now. Normally it is a file that contains special characters, but in this case it does not. There are a bunch of files in that series that do have special characters though. Either way, these files do exist in that location. Is this more of a PMS problem?
Running KODI v18 and the 2.7.1 stable of PKC.
You are using direct paths. Does playback work for the files in question?
Thanks very much!! ![]()
This is a very big thank you for your hard work. My latest stable version is still 2.6.5 in the repository, should it be so?
uninstall / reinstall repo.
I’ll wait a little longer. No time to mess around
