PlexKodiConnect: Kodi Plex Integration Done Right

Concerning your issue with switching Kodi profiles: I cannot replicate that. All working just fine here… You might want to reset PKC completely in the PKC settings for all profiles. If that does not work, reset the Kodi profiles. Let me just tell you that Kodi profiles are not among the most stable things programmers have come up with…

If nothing works, I need your DEBUG log file with the latest Kodi and PKC versions and you replicating the issue: How to Report A Bug · croneter/PlexKodiConnect Wiki · GitHub

Changelog

version 2.9.1:

  • Fix On Deck and Recently Added Episodes for shows not appending showname and season and episode number

Thanks for your reply @croneter, could the version of the PMS play a role here? I am using the latest Beta on Nvidia Shield TV, the URL seems to point to my ShieldTV directly so the NGNIX seems to be out…

Real strange since I use a plain fresh installed kodi (Leia) with nothing but this addon installed, I believe this has something to do with my pms but what? Plex App & official Kodi Addon work perfectly…

Does someone know how this pseudo dns names are generated? Is this like Zeroconfig or any other “magic” stuff?

I just tried the magic URL via a browser from the same system kodi is running on, the result is as expected, it completely downloads the file…

The problem occurs on v.2.8.3 and up.
I have now downgraded to v2.8.0 and do not have this problem.
So resetting won’t fix my problem.

When I have some more time I’ll collect the logs and let you know.

I don’t think so. It’s probably your network setup - I can’t really help you there. You did ultimately not answer my question  - can Kodi access the following URL?

https://10-1-1-7.a739c1f5e9f24e13b23e60af1bd54909.plex.direct:32400/library/parts/30288/1562520499/file.mkv?X-Plex-Platform=Konvergo&Connection=keep-alive&X-Plex-Device-Name=Kodimgl-032181-nb&X-Plex-Provides=client%2Ccontroller%2Cplayer%2Cpubsub-player&X-Plex-Token=xx:xx:xxx&X-Plex-Model=10&X-Plex-Platform-Version=2.26.0.947-1e21fa2b&X-Plex-Client-Identifier=xx:xx:xxx&Accept=%2A%2F%2A&X-Plex-Device=Windows&X-Plex-Product=PlexKodiConnect&Content-Type=application%2Fx-www-form-urlencoded&X-Plex-Version=2.9.0

Mhh, seems we’re missing each other.
I have no idea how to test that via Kodi itself since there is no browser build in, but I tested (as I wrote) via a Webbrowser on the same machine without problems, so the URL should be reachable.

Hi, I currently have FireStick 4K and unfortunately I have a problem on this equipment with Kodi.
Movies do not work without turned on hardware acceleration. When I watch TV (from IPTV), I need to disable acceleration for FHD channels. I enable hardware acceleration for local movies (PlexKodiConnect).
I do not understand why, for 5-10 Kodi works properly in IPTV and later Kodi disables / blocks the image.

For me, the solution would be if watching TV acceleration turned off and for movies was turned on automatically.

Is it possible to add a parameter to PlexKodiConnect with hardware acceleration enabled?

This isn’t a PlexKodiConnect problem so seems unfair to ask the dev to fix a problem that’s nothing to do with his software…

I understand. I am looking for different solutions. Since Amazaon has nothing to look for a solution, DEV Kodi also says that it is the fault of the tool manufacturer. I guess I have nothing else to sell and buy another device.

I have always heard bad things about the Fire TV line of devices needing to be thrown in fire so maybe…

I am trying to install Plex Kodi Connect on SPMC ie Kodi 16. After installing the repository I do not see the option of choosing the Video add-on. Does Plex Kodi Connect work on Kodi 16?

No, sorry, Kodi 16 is way too old

I’ve been fighting many days for FireStick to work as it should. I have changed the option many times. Yesterday I tried to open the movie directly from the QNAP NAS via FTP. I could not connect SMB. What was my surprise when the movie started running smoothly. Unfortunately, Plex Kodi Connect needs hardware acceleration for proper functioning. I love Plex Kodi Connect but unfortunately I am forced to give it up on FireStick. I would like to try a direct path but I can not connect to SMB on FireStick and Kodi.

That is not true. Plexkodiconnect simply provides a file path or URL for Kodi to play - the rest is up to Kodi. Hence you would have to take your issue to the Kodi forums and ask there…

PlexKodiConnect also supports ftp file paths for direct paths. Replace ‘smb://’ with ‘ftp://’

Maybe I have expressed myself badly. For me on FireStick Plex Kodi Connect works smoothly only if acceleration is enabled. I will try to connect after changing to FTP. SMB does not work immediately, I read on the Kodi forum that you have to enter it manually.

Can you write to me what to put in the path? I always have a message or similar:

Edit

I’m sorry, I wrote my share badly. Changing the static path fixes the fluidity of the movie.

Hello,

Are there any known issues with subtitles? I’m seeing some tv shows that, even though Plex shows they have subtitles, KODI does not see them.

Thx

Dear Croneter,

When updating my Plex Kodi Connect to the latest versions 9.1 or 9.3 my music casting gets broken and Kodi won’t play more than two songs and playback totally stops on Kodi and goes back to home menu…

Going back to other versions won’t fix the issue unless I replace my Kodi folder with a backup where the addon is still at 2.7.1…

Thanks in advance.
